Didjits
The address given for their “Durga! Durga! Durga!” cassette in Mattoon, IL 61938. Source: MAXIMUM ROCKNROLL, issue no. 21, Jan., 1985. Street view date: Dec., 2022. Sample quote from the review: “I guess what's "underground" is relative to where you're from. For these guys from Central Illinois, this form of pop/punk/funk they practice is pretty radical. For me, though, it's a bit too close to much "new wave," although there are moments that attract me.” (TY).
Philadelphia, PA, August 29, 1993
One of the most fun New Bomb Turks shows ever -- not to mention one of the most STACKED lineups -- though we did have to book back to Columbus before the Didjits finished, which sucked. But what a show! I mention it in the Muffs section of my book, We Never Learn.

Didjits - Lou Reed
There's no reason to wake up
I put on my wig and my make up
I strut my tight ass across the street
A man in a dress I feel so sweet
Saw Lou Reed giving head down in Soho
I wasn't really there but hey, Johnny he told me so
I wanna be Mark E. Smith
I got my act down I got the riffs
I'll form a band I'll get the best
He'd look so cute in my new dress
Saw Lou Reed giving head down in Soho
I wasn't really there but hey, Johnny he told me so
I wanna be the lead singer for The Fall
I wanna have gold records wall to wall
No, you cannot!
I'm taking off my clothes on stage
I'll be like Mark E. Smith someday
All the old men look at me
I'm thinking of you, Mark, I'm thinking of you!
Saw Lou Reed giving head down in Soho
I wasn't really there but hey, Johnny he told me so
1988 - Chicago
Recently enjoyed. i was listening to Rock And/Or Rule podcast of Detroit rock and they played ? And the Mysterian’s Do Something To Me and I had to play the cover of it on this album. So much genius stuff on here in addition to that cover. These guys trade in the total spirit of rock.
