They do not offer hourly employees sick pay. They do not see birth control as healthcare (it is) and are ignoring recommendations for social distancing. They are staying open because the owner says he got a vision from God. Whether or not you believe in God, it seems extremely hypocritical to have a net worth of 6 million and keep your doors open a refuse sick pay to hourly employees in a pandemic. It’s also unsafe. Obviously.

So, I’d like to suggest an alternative if you need it.

If you need art supplies and want to be responsible, I highly recommend checking out Dick Blick. Hilarious name, I know - but they are a great supplier of all kinds of art supplies and materials, from archival and professional to student to crayons for children. They also sell a lot of stuff Hobby Lobby doesn’t, like metal and linoleum for printmaking, and are mostly online. Something is usually on sale as well.

Your local art store (if you have one) may also be offering delivery or carry out in order to stay open. Call and find out.

There is no reason and no argument for Hobby Lobby to stay open that is responsible. They could deliver to people in respective cities, but they aren’t. They are choosing to believe they are a victim of persecution in a pandemic - a view many Evangelical Christian leaders seem to be taking at this time, choosing to stay open in spite of CDC recommendations on limiting or stopping gatherings. The virus doesn’t care if you’re a Christian or atheist.
