Episode 1: The Bits

Setting: Frybo’s. Steven and Amethyst are at the counter. Pearl is behind the camera, holding it shakily, muttering occasionally.

[Camera shakes slightly as Pearl adjusts it.]

Pearl (off-camera): Steven… are you sure you know what you’re doing?

Steven (grinning at camera): Totally! Welcome to Beach City Outtakes! I’m Steven, your host, and we’re just gonna—y’know—show the people of Beach City… doing stuff. Real stuff. Fun stuff. Weird stuff!

Amethyst (leaning on counter, smirking): Dude, that’s… literally everything Beach City does.

Pearl (off-camera, slightly shrill): Steven, you can’t just say “everything” and expect people to understand! There has to be structure! Rules! Guidelines!

Steven: Guidelines are for… like… structures and rules. And we’re outtakes! We don’t need structure!

Amethyst: Yeah, Pearl, chill. Just let him do his… whatever this is.

[Steven gestures dramatically to Fribo’s counter.]

Steven: Okay, first segment: “The Bits!”

Amethyst (laughing): Oh no…

[Steven turns to Mr. Fryman behind the counter.]

Steven: Hi, can we get… the bits?

Mr. Fryman (confused, deadpan): Uh… we don’t serve those here.

Steven: The bits! You know… the bits!

Amethyst (to camera, whispering): Dude… just grab some fries or whatever.

Pearl (off-camera, sighing): Steven! You cannot order something that doesn’t exist!

Steven: It’s for… the show! The Bits segment!

Mr. Fryman: …No.

Amethyst (shrugging): Then I guess we just… improvise.

[Steven leans in to camera.]

Steven: Beach City outtakes! Anything can happen!

[Cut to quick montage of Amethyst trying to balance a fry on her nose, Steven laughing uncontrollably, Pearl muttering behind the camera.]

Pearl (off-camera, exasperated): I don’t understand any of this…

Amethyst: That’s the point!

Steven (smiling to camera, fries in hand): Stay tuned, Beach City! More outtakes coming your way!
