This is my boyfriend, Noah. He’s 22 and a type 1 diabetic. We’ve been together almost a year and a half, and we’ve been very happy but on Friday we received some earth-shattering news.  Noah has been diagnosed with "severe end-stage proliferative diabetic retinopathy" in both of his eyes. He needs surgery on his left eye and $2,000 shots in his right eye every month or he will be blind within a year. Noah has no health insurance, and the surgery and subsequent treatments will cost well over $10,000. If we do not raise the money necessary Noah will go completely and permanently blind within a year. We’re exploring all of our options, but every little bit anybody can spare will be a huge morale boost for us.

does anyone else inject through clothes? im talking about like thin leggings/tights!

well sometimes, okay a lot recently i do this because i have really bad stretch marks on my legs and i dont like getting them out so i dont want to pull down my leggings. well today my injections have really been hurting as i have been in the snow all day so i just assumed my injection was in far enough..

i took 18 units which is quite a large dose and when i took my injection out it formed a blister type thing. just a pouch of insulin. it was so weird. after a small bit of massaging it seemed to go into my skin but im left with a hard area.
