So judging by the end of 8x18 I'm pretty sure these guys are canon finally (<333333). But I kind of wanna see more of those two under stress. One thing I'd be horrified/excited to see would be if, say, Nell was kidnapped (and not Kensi again - come on, she's been kidnapped four times already). But imagine Eric stressing out over losing her, or her even getting shot and him sleeping by her bed as she recovers, or even just a hostage-ransom type thing.. idk, it sounds really interesting. Thoughts?
idk, i think if we’re gonna go into this more stressful angle first, i’d like to hear the fleshing out of what happened in this episode, because there was such an absurd dichotomy in what happened when they kissed?
Like, last week we got to hear that this stuff gets to these two a lot, they both see a psychologist about it to work through it, they’re both mature about it, and recognise that it gets to them and they need to actually see to their mental health, which is amazing, frankly, and i’m still yelling about that one tbh
but then like, their adrenaline must have been pumping like hell when they were kissing in the grass, and i doubt they were really in the moment much past ‘hey we’re kissing in the grass’, but i imagine eventually the dichotomy that eric shot out a car’s gas tank and made it explode with a person in it, killing them, will hit them both??
i mean, i doubt it actually will because in general this show’s dealing with the body count is appalling, it’s why the scene last week was so brilliant to be, they never go there, but also, realistically they would get to thinking about that eventually.
I think that’d cause appropriate drama and angst without being flashy, but also be very real and revealing about them as people.
But also if we’re going into the flashy, i would prefer Eric got kidnapped and Nell freaked. When Nell got kidnapped in season 4 and Eric snapped at Hetty and Granger even tho back then he was blatantly terrified of them both, it’s one of my favourite neric moments, he didn’t care who he was talking to, nell was in danger and they weren’t focusing on it enough. Nell saw Eric briefly held hostage and at gun point, but it was only for a short time and she knew where he was the whole time, it’d be better to have it be her safe and Eric in danger where she couldn’t see him.
I’d kind of like to see that one.
