I just watched the Spongebob movie (the first one) and... it's kind of weird to go back to it after all this time?
The animation seems like they really push over-exaggeration, especially compared to later seasons and Sponge Out of Water. (There were a LOT of shots where Spongebob and Patrick had huge bodies and tiny limbs to show excitement, and half of Plankton's animation was kind of purposely grotesque, which makes sense but was kind of hard to look at.)
It's still pretty funny, but not as much as I remember. The message that it's okay to be a kid and have fun is a good one we need to hear more often, though.
