Dexter Vines ( @dexstarinks ) was one of the first friends I made when I arrived in the US, to join Crossgen Comics. He was among the warmest and most welcoming guys, and helped make this 'fresh-off-the-plane' guy forget about the fact that he'd just traveled 3,000 miles to a (semi) foreign place. Dex used to provide the ride to the studio, in his low-riding, bass-pounding car, with 5 of us crammed into it each morning. Inevitably I'd always be the last one to the car, but he'd still greet me with that chill attitude, great smile, and infectious laugh of his. So it was a surprise for me to now learn that he's unwell and in need of help. Dexter has Multiple Myeloma, a blood cancer, and he's going to need treatment.
