Dear Mayor Lewis,

  Firstly, I would like to express my joy at the initiative you have taken to gather the town in an effort to turn the defunct JojaMart into a place that is made by and for the residents of Stardew Valley. This is what makes our community so strong, and I am glad to see them taking a part in this remodeling.

  Though I do not wish to make a personal proposal—I believe there are citizens in this town far more creative than I—I do wish to back one of the proposals, if it is presented today. As you know, my grandfather built this business on his own, and as the inheritor and current owner of Carter Carpentry, I know how difficult it was for him to get started all on his own. However, I also know that deciding to run his business in Stardew Valley is one of the reasons it's still standing today. This valley has one of the most loyal and supportive communities I have ever come across, which is why I believe this initiative is the perfect opportunity to help the future entrepreneurs in our town get started.

  I understand that Henry Desai and Sofia Rivera have planned a business proposal centered around a bakery/bookstore, and Carter Carpentry would love to fully support this idea and help bring it to life if ultimately chosen. I would be heavily involved in the entire process—from designing to building—and I will even offer my services at a discounted price (I know building companies near the valley can be pretty steep in prices). Though I am happy to help no matter what proposal is chosen in the end, Mr. Desai and Ms. Rivera are two incredibly hardworking and passionate individuals, and I truly believe in their vision.

First, a deep breath. Second, a smooth of her skirt. Third, a careful walk to the front of the room. Back straight, shoulders even, eyes straight ahead. Sasha was unrecognizable as the charismatic young pop star that shook the nation, then the world, but that persona would only be fuel to the Stardew Valley gossip mill. Here her profile was low, usually much lower than a presentation in front of the entire town, but like most of her father’s requests, she had to grant this one.

So Sasha stood before the town, looking small. She gave a subtle nod, then read from her notes.

“Hello, to the people of Pelican Town and Stardew Valley, and thank you for your time today. I would like to propose we use the old Joja facility to create a karaoke lounge.

“Though I haven’t lived here for some time, I remember how this town likes to celebrate. From graduations and birthdays to holidays and anniversaries, I know Stardew Valley loves a reason to come together.”

She coughed slightly when she omitted how she herself was often made to feel out of place at these ‘celebrations.’

“And what is celebrating without song and dance? I think a karaoke lounge would be perfect for cutting loose on the weekends or rejoicing on special occasions. It’s something that anyone in Stardew Valley, no matter how young or how old, can do.”

She talked a few more minutes on logistics -- where to purchase this or that, the team it would take to install the furniture and pieces -- then bowed her head humbly, appreciatively.
