St. Brigid’s Night Through St. Dorothy’s Day
This has been a big week. Been doing my usual rituals during a family medical crisis to keep my mind off of everything.
The table currently holds items reflecting my work on St. Brigid’s Night and Day, Hromnice/Candlmas Eve and Day, St. Blaise’s Day, St. Agatha’s Day, and Today, St. Dorothy’s Day—mostly work with my Moravian ancestors, but also the Gaelic.
The week beginning with St. Brigid’s Day is something of a gestational period in my devotional year, a period between the old and the new, as I begin my devotional year on Old St. Matthew’s Day/my birthday with the drowning of Morana (this is not a traditional date, but one that works better with my climate, which is more southerly than that of my ancestors).
