Alongside my photography I will be creating illustrations of flowers by drawing in photoshop. This is so I will have some illustrations for any posters I decide to make. For this I am just simply drawing from a image using the brush tool and my wakum one drawing tablet.
I then added the dark blue to the centre of the petal and the lighter blue on the edge of the petal. I duplicated it twice so I had 3 petals to make a 3 petaled flower.
In order to rotate the petals I can use the command of ctrl t.
Alternatively I can also go to edit<transform. Here I can select the exact amount I want to rotate my drawing.
This is what I had after rotating all there to the ideal angle. I would then need to draw the anthers. ( anthers. The part of the stamen that contains polen)
This is the finished drawing. I am thinking if I produce some different colour varations and diffrent breeds of flowers I can use them as a border around a poster.
Using the same process, I would now be drawing a rose.
In the past I have found that just drawing some shapes and connecting them to a flower shape and using the fill tool is a effective way to create a rose .
If in the past I find I did a drawing I liked and I come back to it a few months or even a year later, I redraw it doing my best to replicate it.
I started to draw all of the outline and shapes of the rose. I do this by eye so it is almost impossible to get the drawing directly the same.
I find that this just mean that each drawing will be unique and different in some sort of way. Here you can see a rose shape has began to form. I would add a few more shapes to the drawing before using the fill tool to selct and fill parts of the rose.
I have choosen a rose colour pallete which I will be using the eyedropper tool to take colours from and put them into my drawing.
Here is a idea of what the rose will look like once it has colour added to it. I will be switching the colours and what areas are different shades intil I get the perfect result.
I decided to change the red outline to black. For about half a hour I played around with the colours because this is what gives the rose that feeling of being a actual flower. I duplicated it 3 more times so I had more options if I decided to use it in the end. Even if I do I will save it as a psd so I can edit it at a later point. My aim for this project is to do lots a little digital workshops, These will then feed into my final outcomes. This is similar to what we did for the MARS project which I found a really good way too keep productivity up aswell as making the production n of your final outcomes easier because you have already done the work.
