Found the thread. It’s 10 people moaning out of the 100s of positive messages in your inbox, forget them and don’t let them occupy your thoughts. You don’t make claims on someone else’s life- you only speculate and voice how things come across to you and you are respectful to keep your opinions on your blog (unlike the person that decided it was a good idea to share you blog which is very uncalled for but it will be forgotten in a few weeks when they find someone else to complain about.
Aww, thanks so much, Anons and @deviousomens. 💗
I do love you guys, my wonderful followers, and this fandom (though I will say that not all of the messages in my inbox are positive, as there are a few doozies, including one that came in just yesterday...).
The GO fandom has honestly been such a refuge for me through all the drama I’ve gone through with my old fandom over the last few years. But what I have to remember--and have now very much been reminded of--is that the GO fandom is still a fandom, and so it is like every fandom out there. I’ve had people come after me before for the things I posted, people who declared themselves the fandom police, and so at the end of the day, none of this is really new to me.
What I love about this fandom is the show of Good Omens itself, the characters of Aziraphale and Crowley, everything Michael and David bring to those characters, and everything they bring to their own relationship. Whether it’s purely platonic or something more (as I believe it to be), I love what is between them and how powerful it is, and I feel it deserves to be recognized and acknowledged and not minimized just because they are both in “straight” relationships at the moment. I love that Aziraphale and Crowley are celestial beings who have opened up perceptions and ideas about humanity more than most human characters, and that the foundation of that relationship and connection came from the one Michael and David built with each other.
I also love the people I have met in this fandom, the amazing friends I have made over the last few years, who have been such a joy and a pleasure to talk to and to know. Even those of you I only know as Anon, I am so grateful for, because your questions give me so much to think about and your feedback and appreciation for my blog and the content I make warms my heart. So yes, I do still love all of you and that is most certainly not going to change because of some petty Twitter drama.
People have asked me/expressed concern that I might stop posting, or change what I post due to recent events (the Twitter drama and the pregnancy news), and all I can say is that I have every intention of keeping the discussion going. I still wholeheartedly ship Michael and David, and I will censor neither myself nor anyone who comes to my blog. I’ve been attacked plenty of times in the past for different reasons and in different fandoms, and it’s going to take a lot more than that to shut me up.
So I am still here, and I’m glad that you are all still here, too...
