Finally saw the Aurora last night. I haven't seen it since I was a child because I live on the south side of a growing city. But last night was powerful, so I had hopes. I woke around 1:30 in the morning with a wannabe migraine, so I got up to take meds and use the bathroom. I looked out the window and thought "is it cloudy or is it...? Oops, there's a star. It's not cloudy." So, I headed outside. It was hard to come back in. I never saw any color (as I had when I was a kid), but it was still fascinating seeing the streaks all over the west and above me. No camera I have could pick them up. I love this shot of Devils Tower from our local Aurora group.
