While serving Elijah it was rare that she left the house. She did at the beginning, when they asked her for all those interviews. However once androids started to become a more widespread thing and with a lot of different models, Chloe wasn’t that special anymore and there was no reason for her to leave the house anymore. Sometimes Elijah took her with him when he had to live for a meeting, but then he started to do those meetings online and leaving the house became unnecessary for both of them. Now she was sitting at the park on a bench, just taking in the sunlight, the chirping of the birds and the happy faces of everyone around her. That was when she spotted a familiar face. Sudden emotions flooded her as she remembered that moment, but she had a smile on her face again when she stood and walked up to him. “Connor? I remember you.”

Having Connor walking with him to political meetings and then back to New Jericho was becoming such a common thing now. North wanted someone protecting him and Connor had been one of the first people to offer his help. Markus wasn't too fond of the idea of someone following him around because there was a suspicion that he would get kidnapped, hurt or even killed while walking around due to the still present anti-android protesters.
Markus takes to the alleys mainly because of the fact that he kept getting recognized and stopped while he walked around Detroit. It was getting bothersome especially when he was in a rush to get from place to place.
He’s walking down one of the alleys that had the buildings just a little bit too close together. He sends Connor down first with the guise of him making sure the other side would be safe. When Markus gets the all clear from Connor, he starts making his way through it.
Now that he was going through the tight space, he feels as though he had made a mistake. There was only one other time when he passed through an entrance such as this: back at the Android Graveyard after he had been shot by police officers and dumped there, having to have been believed to be dead. The edges of his vision darken as the space seems to get smaller and smaller. He blinks a couple of times and when he opens his eyes he sees hands. Hands reaching out, touching him, grabbing him, there are voices calling out to him, demanding help, screaming, begging for help that was never going to come.
There's a tug on Markus’ coat. On the outside it was a simple wire that had broken out of one of the buildings, but to Markus it was hands that were grabbing at him. He tears free of it and stumbles out of the alley and accidently into Connor. Spinning around, wild, disorientated mismatched eyes land on Connor. He hadn’t even noticed that his fans were spinning but now it had been noticed he can hear them, can feel his thirium pump inside of his chest pumping away spreading thirium through his systems.
Coughing as if he had something stuck in his throat, Markus straightens himself out, brushing down his coat and making sure it crosses over his body. “Oh, yeah. Sorry about that.” He had to calm himself down, he couldn’t go back to New Jericho while feeling like this. Others would notice. They would ask if something was wrong. He couldn’t let them see that he was struggling with something.
