Story Time
If you must know one thing about my fiance, one singular thing, one tiny insignificant thing about him it would be he never refused a bet. Not even when we were little and I bet him he couldn't go a week without sleeping, to this day he swears i gave him narcolepsy. Pff not my fault. Or how about the time I said he couldn't hold his breath for a minute? He couldn't actually because he had to go and hold it for a minute and thirty seven seconds, always the showboat. And let's not forget about the time I bet him his favorite pair of fuzzy socks that he couldn't keep his hands out of my hair for a day, I came to school with a cowlick like an idiot, but I got that pair of socks didn't I? So what could he say when I bent down on one knee and said: "I bet half my stuff that I'll love you for ever."

The Little Boy Talked to Spiderman
The little boy sat at the kitchen table, his untouched breakfast sitting before him. He held up his favorite Spiderman doll, talking to it. His parents and older sister failed to notice or simply ignored him. This was a usual morning. The sister kicked her feet back and forth as she sat and waited patiently to be served. The mother cooked. The father read. The little boy talked to Spiderman. The father mentioned something in the paper to the mother. She responded. The sister cut up her freshly served food. The little boy talked to Spider man. His family paid him no heed.
The boy had talked to his doll like this for a few months now. He was five. It wasn't abnormal to have an imaginary friend at that age. Sometimes the boy knew things. Things he shouldn't have known. He claimed Spiderman told him. His parents simply assumed he'd been spying. The boy didn't make any friends at school. He talked to Spiderman. "Spiderman is the only friend I need", he'd say. His parents grew annoyed. On this day they said he couldn't bring Spiderman to school. The boy cried. His father yelled. In the end the boy lost.
So there he sat. He told Spiderman that he'd have to stay home alone that day. Spiderman didn't like this. The little boy explained it as best he could. Spiderman wasn't happy.
The mother sat down to eat. The father ate as he read the paper. The sister swung her feet back and forth as she crunched her bacon. The little boy talked to Spiderman. His family ignored him. Spiderman asked the boy for something.
"You want to switch bodies for a day?" The little boy asked. "Yeah, we can do that."
The blood had dried by the next day. The mother didn't move. The father didn't read. The sister didn't swing her feet back and forth. The little boy didn't talk to Spiderman. No one had left the house yet. Spiderman sat in the car seat in the back of their minivan.
