DEFINITELY the personality swap wish- this one was a DISASTER 😂 (kinda this AU equivalent of the episode “the terrible twosome”?) more comics below the cut, I’ve been wanting to ramble about this idea lol

Since Ved loves annoying him, he’ll frequently manufacture situations where Dev has to intervene or there will be disastrous consequences, but Ved has only resorted to unironically requesting Dev’s help two or three times (once when Ved almost convinced dev to kill anti-Vicky, but he backed out at the last second- still working out the bugs in this au’s “operation birthday take back” equivalent lol) but I think the only WISH they ever had to collaborate to fix was the personality switch one, because BOTH of thier godkids were too stubborn to reverse it unprompted, and were driving thier respective godparents absolutely insane for DAYS before they got together to brainstorm a way out.

The wishes specifically were “I wish I was as mean as Iris” and “I wish I was as nice as Perry”, because they were trying to show one another how annoying they were. this was pretty early in their elementary school friendship rekindling, so this was probably the first time Dev saw Ved get legitimately frustrated and loose his cool enough to cut the shit and ask Dev for help fixing everything (via a creepy note that just said “meet me in the culdesac at midnight. We need to fix this.”)

Through thier collaboration, the two antipodes are able to figure out that since Perry’s wishes are more powerful then Iris’ (Perry is a wish baby, but Ved doesn’t share this info of course bc he sucks 😂) that means Perry should be able to reverse the wish alone, but they have to convince him to. Through Ved’s encyclopedic knowledge of DA RULES, dev learns that personality swap wishes are actually a form of hypnotism, not a physical switch of anything (yes I remember the mean bug episode but Ved would never have granted THIS wish like that- if Iris wanted a bug that turns you evil running around, Ved would happily oblige for the sake of creating chaos) dev figured out that Perry’s REGULAR personality is still under the surface, but needed to be lured into overpowering the meaness spell long enough to break the wish. How does he do this? By summoning Perry’s older brother for a surprise visit, via an untraceable summoning sigil Ved gives him. evil Perry has been FUMING about Timmy “abandoning him”, so he is FURIOUS to see him, and totally flips out at Timmy, saying incredibly hurtful things to the person he’s been missing most in the world, until REGULAR Perry resurfaces out of sheer mortification, sprinting away from his gobsmacked brother in shame.

Perry unwishes the personality swap the SECOND dev appears to him, but before he can wish to wipe Timmy’s memory, Timmy finds Perry’s hiding spot, and gently sits down next to him. Perry falls all over himself apologizing, insisting he didn’t mean any of it and just wanted to hurt Timmy’s feelings, but Timmy isn’t angry. Perry’s older brother just comforts him, and they have a heart to heart where Timmy reassures his brother he doesn’t have to hide stuff from him and pretend everything’s okay, and that it’s okay to not be nice all the time, even recounting some times HE wasn’t nice to Perry in the past. They’re able to talk it out with no hard feelings, and though Perry deeply regrets saying such cruel things to his brother, a lot of it WAS underlying stuff that had been bothering him for months, and he was just too nice to say anything about. (Sparky not being home, Timmy not calling him often, visits getting cancelled, etc. etc.)

Ved and a recently-back-to normal iris sit together in his backyard, gleefully frying ants with a magnifying glass

“I wish ants could audibly scream!” Iris cackles, and Ved happily obliges, grinning as he types the command into his calculator

“Good ta have ya back, lil buddy!”

The tiny screams stop as Iris sees Perry, now also back to normal, sprint through the gate to his backyard, breathing heavily, and still wearing Iris’ jacket- clearly having run from his own house.

Perry pauses for a moment as he catches his breath, scanning the large, ornate backyard in search of his friend.

Ved scoffs with annoyance, softly elbowing Iris with a crooked smirk on his face “well well, look who it is! I’d say we’ve both had about enough a-“ Iris holds up a hand to cut him off “easy now, godparent- I’m sure Perry’s just here to ~apowogize~ for all the ~nasty-wasty~ words he threw my way while we were swapped” iris sing-songs mockingly, Ved cackles at Iris’ fake hurt expression- Iris’ face returns to neutral, and he rolls his eyes as Perry cautiously approaches

“I’ll have you know, periwinkle- it takes FAR worse than that to actually hurt ME- your insults were hardly… clever?”

Iris trails off as Perry grabs him into a hug, squeezing tightly.

Iris pauses a moment, then sighs in defeat- “heh- you really are back to-“

Perry’s voice, small and quivering, from over Iris’ shoulder, cuts him off- “I was so scared…”

Iris is immediately alarmed, and tries to lean back to look at Perry’s face- “scared? What, that i’d be cross with you? I told you, it’s-“

Perry squeezes him tightly again, burying his face farther into his friends’ sleeve-

“Of EVERYONE. The teachers, My freinds, my FAMILY, even my brother… it felt like… like I had to hurt them first, so they couldn’t hurt me…”

a look of comprehension crosses Iris’ face, and he looks sadly at the ground, slowly bringing his arms up to return the hug.

After a long silence, Perry asks the inevitable question-

“Is that… how you feel?”

Iris sniffles, squeezing Perry while grumbling “of course not… that’s… the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard…” voice audibly breaking

Ved stares at the display with annoyance, but doesn’t intervene, only muttering “ugh, I’m gonna be sick…”

A poof of orange smoke appears, and dev floats nearby, looking equally unamused

“You and me both”

Iris growls with annoyance, shouting at the two fairies- “OH PISS OFF, PEANUT GALLERY, WE’RE HAVING A MOMENT!”

Ok FINE, but I’m posting it at ass o clock in the morning so fewer ppl see it bc im embarrassed 😂☠️

Forgive my lady voice disease, but if anyone was wondering what’s Ved’s freakass voice sounds like here’s ur answer

While I do personally prefer them as platonic, that doesn’t mean I don’t see the vision- tbh I love me a good toxic ship (glances at canon Perirep )

I WILL say tho, Ved definitely gets up in devs personal space CONSTANTLY, bc he knows Dev is super touch-adverse and loves freaking him out, so here’s a doodle that can be as shippy as you want it to be ig? 😂
