Life is never easy, you don’t have to be an outcast to know that. In Destrias case it certainly helped speed up the learning process though. Being born with a cursed mark emblazoned on her neck was all the warning her parents needed. They dropped her in the woods, hoping it would at least be an easy end for her. Unfortunately for so many people, being cursed came with some benefits. She could exert her will over other living things, a chain would form around their necks to match her mark. With a whole forest of creatures to help her grow Destria became strong. By the time she was fifteen she was eight feet tall, her power of control grew too, she could bind people now too. They weren’t much harder than animals, the same needs just disguised by evolution. She returned home at the age of twenty. The townspeople fled at her sight, a ten foot tall monster that came from the wilds. Her mother knew, not some motherly instinct for the child she abandoned, but a nagging feeling that never went away. A feeling that burst when it’s source was before her, the what if she always wished was just a nightmare. Destria didn’t care for either of her parents, their lives meant nothing to her. The other children they had are why she returned, a pull from deep in her chest lead her to them. Seven all together now that she was home. She consumed them, and reveled in the power they granted her. With her family taken care of, she set out to complete a mission he entire being was compelled to do. Her first priority was seeking out the root of her mark, binding scholars let her take their knowledge, and she knew his name. Mephestophles, the demon she would be an Avatar to. Her next plan was already mostly done, she ripped the knowledge of him from the minds of the world. Unknown to all she worked, laying the foundations to a plan that would take centuries to come to fruition. As time passed her body became old, more monstrous, she’d have to find new methods of traversing the world. The answer came to her on upon an accidental return home, family. It was hard to find hosts good enough for them, they were her now too. Thanks to her binding magic she tied their souls to her own, through them she could work faster. She altered their minds, taking the memories of who they were and replacing them with ones to convince them of her cause. All lies are rooted in truth of course, they were given parts of her own soul to form the link. Her fear, magical prowess, cunning, duty, hope, and ambition. Her mind began to fray with these new eyes and bodies. The others sealed her, slumbering beneath the key to her plan. The other only knew a small piece of it of course, but she would be free from this curse. With that freedom, she would a new world. A fair and easy one.
