Weekly Affirmation! One of the major things I realized when things were going terrible for me, when I didn’t get a break, when things weren’t going the way I expected it or life wasn’t giving me a fair shot, was my language. My Language? Yes my language. How I spoke, the words I used and the constant phrases I would say to my self was my language and my language was all negative! See, we all affirm things, every minute of every day! And if we really paid attention we would realize how negative our language actually is. “I am going to be late!” “There’s no good men out there.” “The world is chaotic.” “I will never get the job I want.” “That will never happen.” “I hope I don’t get sick.” “Great things never happens to me.” “People that look like me or come from where I come from will never be wealthy.” Or “Bad things happens to good people.” All these are affirmation that you are sending to the Universe as if you were asking for these things directly and you are. When I decided to change my life, it was important that I changed my language. No matter the circumstances or situations, I do my best to affirm what I want not what I don’t want. While most people affirm what they don’t want and get just that! You can find out for yourself. Start affirming what you want and see how crazy people will think you are. I have even got slack from family members, thinking I was living in a dream world, not understanding that I was creating a dream world that I would be living in. “Life is good to me!” “I always get what I want.” “I am a money magnet.” “I surround myself with good people.” “No weapon formed against me shall prosper.” “I am handsome!” “I am Rich!” “People love what I bring to the table.” “Everyday is a great day!” “I drive my dream car!” Say this often and people will think you are crazy if you are not in a situation that validates it. But stay the course, watch what you say and affirm what you want. Who are you? What do you like? What makes you happy? What fills your cup and what depletes it? What are you holding on to that is stopping you from moving forward? What do you need to do that you haven’t been doing? What do you believe in that is not serving you? What should you let go? What should you do next? Sometimes we have a million questions going through our minds, especially on which direction to go or how to live our lives, so we end up looking outside of ourselves to everyone to find the answers but unfortunately they don’t have them. Your mother doesn’t have them, your sister doesn’t have them, the TV doesn’t have them, the bar doesn’t have them neither does your place of warship but You have them! Through your gut feelings, your instinct and your intuition you will know what to do but only after you start having a relationship with you. Most of us, spend so much time and energy getting to know other people lives, about their relationships, about their drama and about what is going on with them, that we don’t spend enough time seeing what is going on with us. Spend time getting to know you, dating you and embracing you. There’s many things about you that you haven’t discovered yet but if you take the time 30 mins a day just to be with you. When did you find yourself and I always wished I could tell them that it was in this flash of light or something epic but it was when I finally realized and understood one simple concept. I do not control what others think of me I do not control the weather I do not control the President I do not control the State of the Union I do not control society as a whole I do not control other people I do not control the Stars and the Moon I do not control the Universe I do not control the financial system I do not control the markets And I do not control my employers. I can only control how I think, how I speak and my daily habits. See I started to ask myself, “why am I spending so much time and energy focusing and complaining about things I couldn’t control and never will?” From there I just spent every day focusing and putting energy into bettering myself because that is the only thing I can do. Most people want to change the world but never start with him or herself. Aren’t you apart of this world? Isn’t it a collective? So why not do your part? See it’s easier to spread blame on to others and circumstances but it’s hard to change oneself. Once I took on the challenge of improving myself in all aspects of me, mentally, physically and emotionally, circumstance become less of a factor because I began to create my own circumstances instead of going of the defaults of society. That was the day I found myself! And it’s been a blast. When you can focus on yourself versus your team winning, celebrity drama, presidential candidates or even your crazy family. I remember watching a movie scene that I thought was very impactful and was such a great representation of life and how we shift our energy. It was from The Divergent Trilogy. When the girl had to face her evil self and the more she fought, the stronger her evil self became until she realized the more angry she got the more it fueled her enemy so she decided to stop fighting. Instead of continuing to push against her opposition. She made peace with it and instantly her evil self, lost all of its power. Life is energy and what ever you put your personal energy towards gets bigger in your life. And whatever you resist persist. So, at one point I had to realize as well, whatever I was angry or frustrated at, didn’t go away, all it did was increase in my life experience. It wasn’t until I made peace with people that lie, people that hurt, people that corrupt or situations that are not ideal. As soon as I made peace with their existence, their appearance started to disappear from my existence. What is given shall be received. Even, if I feel justified in my aggression toward someone or something, it only adds fire to the fire, only when I add water will the fire cease. Unknowingly, we make bad situations worse from our lack of understanding that our energy and focus is powerful. When we make peace with our surroundings, that is the moment when our surroundings makes peace with us.
