I did read the book (not my favorite book but eh) and I totally agree. Having Elphaba fall for the popular white guy in the musical is like trying to have Velma and Fred get together it just makes No Sense and was completely unnecessary
I guess they were trying to make the relationship more pg in the musical but it just came across as underdeveloped? I don’t know why that would make them whitewash fiyero like that tho

tl;dr: Isha probably wouldn’t develop a relationship with any of the courtiers unless there were very special circumstances.
They’d be best with Volta as she’s the least malicious and Isha knows some magic recipies they know she’d love.
After that, they’d actually be decent with Vlastomil? Despite their near-infinite patience, they don’t have any for his corruption and that would be a hard barrier to cross. But they like worms. They’re good with all animals and it’s nice to see when someone has a deep enthusiasm for something.
As for Vulgora.... yeah, that would never happen. Isha can’t stand a violence or war-mongering and Vulgora wants nothing but to pick a fight. They actually see Isha’s good in combat and want to test it in the ring but Isha wants nothing to do with it.
With Valdemar, not only are they aroace but also they constantly want to vivisect Isha so that’s also not going to happen. They can feel every vile, cruel act against humanity radiating from them and it makes Isha sick to their soul.
