After spending another 15 minutes messing with it, here is the creature.
I wanted to lean into the eldritch “You don’t belong” nature of The Soul (yes, that’s the Light World version) as well as taking into account as much of “me” as I could represent visually.
I consider The Knight and The Angel to be two sides of the same coin, that combined with my love of fantasy made Living Armor a pretty clear choice. The resemblance to Kris’ DW gear is a coincidence, funny enough. The wings were a surprisingly late addition and represent my love of space and mechanics. The chestplate is detailed with Phoenician letters, which are the basis for the Latin Alphabet, representing my love of language and writing. The grieves patterns are intended to make it look a bit like Sci-fi armor, a genre I also love.
I put in more thought than probably needed for the weapon. Berdly already claimed my favorite polearm so I ended up picking a weapon that was very effective fighting against knights.
I had a fun coming up with the titles. The second and third are ment to parody The Roaring Knight, while the last I was inspired by the Aurora on Veteran’s Day.
This drawing is the first time I’ve drawn hands without tracing and wings period, so if you see anatomy mistakes, no you don’t.
Feel free to ask any questions, I spent way too much time on this so I can probably answer them.
YOOOO!
Okay, the concept of living armor that moves solely because it is possessed by a Soul sounds AWESOME!
I LOVE all the details you put into this; it truly looks like a piece of ancient, enchanted gear. But what I love even more is the symbolism you've woven into the design! The idea that the armor could be worn by anyone, but doesn’t truly "fit" anyone, feels incredibly meta.
It’s a perfect parallel to the prophecy. The roles set up for the heroes are so vague
“The first hero. The cage, with human soul and parts!
The second hero. The girl, with hope crossed on her heart. The third hero.
The prince, alone in deepest dark...
And last, was the girl. At last, was the girl. Love finds its way to the girl.”
Those lines are so non-specific that almost anyone could be forced into those roles. It’s just like your armor, anyone can wear it, but it wasn't really made to fit any one person in particular. In this tale of Deltarune, anyone can fit the role of the heroes, but that also means the role of a "hero" isn't actually tailored for anyone at all.
Also, for your first time drawing hands and wings without tracing, you did an amazing job! Heavens know how terrible I myself in desiging armor
