Hello dear reader,
Writing in this format has me feeling like lady whistledown lmao.
Anyways, today I will be posting your daily dose of DO IT. Whatever just came to your mind - do it. I don’t give a damn that you’re scared of shaving your head or what your parents will say when they find out about the tattoo, DO IT. I double-dawg-dare you. DO.IT. Right now. If what you were thinking of was to stop procrastinating and actually doing smth? Yeah that was mine too, twinsies! still gotta do it though.
I feel like we must do something else too, now that I have you here, so I’m gonna chit-chat about some writing (Oo~ nice!) I know, now let’s get to it:
When browsing through tumblr I see a lot of posts about “Things Not To Do If You Don’t Want Your Story To Seem Trashy” and istg #1 is ALWAYS describing your characters looks in a mirror. Now, I get it, if you have a very un-trained writing technique and a boring character - this will expose the thrashy-ness. YOU ARE ALLOWED TO DESCRIBE THEM IN MIRRORS but for gods sake include their inner monologue or something else that’s important, and don’t over-exaggerate. Describing your character in a mirror can be a great choice, especially if you’re writing about eating disorders or another kind of illness that shows phisically. Also things like tracing their [adverb] fingers over their skin can give a sorta subtle describtion of their bodytype through their fingers - big and chubby, long and boney, or even better, short and boney. Wow that last one had punch huh? Omg long and chubby (Every lesbians dream-) stOP-
Anyways, I hope you did the thing while reading this (get your mind outta the gutter) and had a good time.
Love, The sapphic writer
