I was originally going to make this a video post, but I had a bit of trouble recording so gave up on that idea. This was suppose to be a song... sang to the tune of 'Fever'.Â
What we count as experience,Â
Founds our concept of the world.
Identifying cultural authorities
And whats important to write down and record
Its Archive Fever, when we catalogue, sort and file information.
Fever, photoalbums, libraries, facebook, databases.
In a way we often document history
But that documentation brings it into being
If a tree falls in the forrest and no one takes a photo,
Writes it down or puts it in a podcast
Then did it happen?; Society's obsessed. We hoard data on everything.
(archive) Fever, Nike is tracking us, archiving all our running.
Think about what you write on Facebook
Or how funny your tweet really is
Social media means personal archives
We all document our life as we go.
Its Archive Fever, sorting and organising, all the data in the world.
Archive FEVER, School systems and even groccery shelfs.
On the plus side, you guys didn't have to listen to my singing. And a video of me dorkily singing about something I learnt in class hasn't been archived on the internet forever.
