reginald hargreeves looking up human grace years later, finding out what happened to her because in his head she is still his. his wife and mother to his children, and as he speaks she is baking pies in the kitchen.
in reality she has been happily married to another man for the past fifty years. she has kids who look like her but not him, and her face is full of wrinkles but her eyes look the same. it was through his fault that he pushed grace away, and now she exists in a life he could never have been apart of. the memoriam he built of her is who she used to be, when he had her, but the grace she is now is someone his nannybot could never emulate.
no because i have so many thoughts about reginald hargreeves. how he's an alien not from earth but he created these 43 children and only got seven of them. how they aren't "his" children; they're not even the same species and he doesn't belong on earth yet he raises them in the way he knew best. how he was afraid to be close to his own children because no matter what sort of life he carved out for them, knew he didn't belong there and by extension, neither did they.
and as if that's not enough, he models their caregiver after the one human woman he was close to. and reginald knew nothing about human archetypes or being "motherly" but he loved grace and wanted her to epitomize a human mother for his human children - wanted them to love her as he loved her. and so he did.
Sometimes personal growth is meditation. Sometimes it's completing a labyrinth with your friends to rescue your baby brother from the goblin king. Growth is different for everybody🤷♀️

Bad Batch Texting Styles
Hunter: dry texter. No periods at the end of the text. He spits out whatever he has to say and hits send. Misspells occasionally for this reason. The only emoji he ever uses is the thumbs up one, which sometimes reads as sarcastic, but he doesn't know that
Tech: also a bit of a dry texter. He has perfect grammar and spelling, and never misspells. Has autocorrect turned off so it doesn't screw him over. Has never used an emoji in his life.
Wrecker: king of emojis. His favorite are the sunglasses one and the explosion. Wrecker types in caps lock a LOT. He uses way too many exclamation points. His spelling is good only because of autocorrect, but he has also been the victim of autocorrect one too many times
Crosshair: worst of all. He never responds to anything.
