The 60's yet again? Of course, I have to mention The Beatles then. They are the epitome of the period, because they hold their sway over the latter. I mean, they can still release another single ā one member's demo repurposed into their own piece ā and sell like crazy. Still, one has to notice something about them, which keeps getting forgotten ā they allowed themselves to be weird. Don't laugh here, many don't do something in the vein as they achieve such levels of fame. For instance, one of their most famous songs ā check the link ā might be a warning about nostalgia, yet the piece sounds like they keep pulling your leg to be more observant of what they try to achieve. Are they mocking the theme or making the latter more prominent? Why not both?
The disappearance of Robert (1995)
The time when Robert ran away and Derek Simpson looked after him. Always felt Derek got a raw deal in the end. Would have made an interesting character if heād stuck around.

Derek SimpsonāsĀ āHide + Seekā Inescapably Captivates You
Derek Simpsonās latest single, āHide + Seek,ā inescapably captivates you. For the entirety of the six-minute song, you are put in a trance. A delectable guitar establishes the feel-good, alternative R&B vibe and drives the alluring beat throughout. Soft and soothing, both male and female vocals add the perfect flavor. Although Simpson reveals that the majority of the track came about in a single afternoon, āHide + Seekā and the euphoric space it transcends have much greater longevity.
āHide + Seekā captures a feeling. Derek describes it as āwhen you first start to realize that you and another person have an unspoken attraction, but itās too early for you to know exactly what that chemistry means or how youād like to interact with it.ā How exciting it is to wonder about compatibility. Meanwhile all the wonderful elements combined in this track are without a doubt, symbiotic.
He also films and directs all of his music videos, and he even designed his own font for theĀ KiNG SUNĀ LP he released in August 2019. [The innovative art piece offers illustrated individual tarot cards that represent the deeper meaning of each track from the album.]
Additionally, those who pre-saved "Hide + Seek" were granted access to "bad_connection", a free album and short film byĀ Derek. "bad_connection" is now publicly available on his website:Ā https://www.dereksimpsonmusic.com/bad_connection.
