6: Shy kiss

The movie was almost over. They were snuggled up tightly on the couch, blanket draped over them and the popcorn bowl tucked where they both could reach.

This wasn’t the first time this had happened. And this wasn’t the first time that Hunk had entertained the idea of how easy it would be to just kiss Lance. So far he had never managed to gather up the courage. The credits began to scroll. Hunk blinked as the movie seemed to have ended a lot quicker than he had expected. 

“Okay but please consider--”

She practically barges into the living room, hollering at the top of her lungs knowing it’d surely take Lance’s attention from whatever he may be doing-- it’s a topic of utmost importance and he has to hear it.

“Free dessert and flowers if we go as a couple at this one restaurant that just opened up!”

         “ Dude, I literally just got out of bed. Why’d you call ? I mean, you’re not permitted by the Garrison right now to talk, right ? Are you… doing illegal stuff again ? ”

The last thing he could remember... was throwing Blaytz away from some strange machinery.

Yes, that was right - they had been informed of strange wreckage out in the Abyssal Belt. The Paladins had gone to investigate, opting to leave the Lions and get a closer look at the debris. 

Trigel said something about strange readings, Blaytz had found a component of the ship that still had ‘some juice.’ He started poking at it despite being told not to, the core started to light up, and Zarkon hurled him away before -

Zarkon groaned, forcing his arms underneath himself. Wherever he was, he was on solid, natural ground. That much he could feel. He forced his eyes to open, straining against the light - his HUD was reporting breathable air.

They had been in space. Where...where was he? Had he been rendered unconscious by the explosion - what about Blaytz? Had the others evacuated them? 

...Did they drop him in some dirt?

Gritting his fangs, Zarkon forced himself up off the ground. He managed to get as far as kneeling when his swirling vision caught sight of movement. He shook his head in an attempt to clear it, blinking the haze from his eyes. Before him was...

...An...Altean?

Still dizzy and confused, Zarkon simply said the first thing that came to mind.

   As soon as the kids saw her make her way to the beach, they were on her tail. Some were quite young, their steps loud and obnoxious unlike the older ones ( well into their teens ) who crept after her like she was prey. Miyuki knew these daily visits were going to attract unwanted attention, but what she hadn’t anticipated was towards WHO it was targeted. Hushed voices speak when she used to pass by the village; ‘she knows where it is’ , ‘she knows where it is’ , ‘she knows of him’, ‘she knows she knows she knows--’ , ‘follow her and bring him to us’. 

   Him. The witch knew who that referred to and was now taking a different route to her friend’s house, cautious and alert to those behind her. She’ll lose them to her illusions, a quick spell she’s learned for the sake of survival. Her own and now Lance’s as well.
