Okay so apparently from what I've heard from other posts, some side effects of depression are memory problems and dissociation.
So, since Lucifer has depression this explains why he forgot abt Charlie telling him abt the hotel over the phone last time they called and why he said "about what?" when Charlie asked "what do think?" after they'd been talking abt and walking around the hotel for a while.
And tbh this makes me really sad because Charlie clearly doesn't know that her dad's depressed and I'm pretty sure he's trying to hide it from her just judging by their talk over the phone:
"You know where I am Dad, I've told you before. Or did you not listen?"
"No, no, no. Just forgot... I've just been really busy."
Like literally just hearing this exchange alone makes me incredibly sad.
And his depression is probably like the basis for why their relationship was strained. Like I'm sure Lucifer didn't want Charlie to see him during his bad days so he just stopped contacting her except occasionally and that made her think that he didn't want anything to do with her and that in turn made him think that she wanted nothing to with him 😭.
