So, I have a headcanon about the details of Vash and Knives' birth, as in why they were born the way they were - as twins and are apparently male. (It's a cis-gendered headcanon, please don't hurt me, tumblr, I think that having a trans headcanon for them is valid) - I just happen to like this cis-gendered idea I have for the sake of drama: So, this idea / headcanon I have is that (at least manga and Stampede canons) that the boys are born as twins and as males (AMAB) because of Tesla. Imagine that you are a Plant or the hive-mind collective of Plants on a ship. You've all kind of decided that you need to pool / gun up your energy to create something that can communicate with the humans, so you put your energy into birthing a Plant that is human-like and can live outside of the bulbs and learn their ways and talk to them. Your first attempt gets studied like a lab-rat and dissected. Okay, that was a fail. You didn't expect them to do that, probably. So, you go back into your Gate-draws and decide to try again. What if you make two of them? That way, if one gets killed, the other may survive. Or one is there to protect the other and they are going to have a higher chance of success as they guard one another. Also, you're going to time their birth to when most of the crew is asleep and that one guilt-ridden really nice lady who tried to stop the experiments / murder and failed is on duty alone. You trust her and know that she'll not make the same mistakes twice and will guard your babies. Also, just in case - because maybe, as a Plant / Plant collective, you noticed certain humans as being in authority / or just better listened to as a whole (men), you decide to make them male on the chance that "males are listened to better among humans." Is this a false perception, or do little snatches of the patriarchy still exist in the future in deep space? Sadly, I expect the latter. "Let us make our children in the image of the human crewmembers who raised their voices above others, then maybe those same humans will listen to us."
Something of a derpessing headcanon, but Muffy is often shown with a second Muffy and has twin daughters in one of Arthurās dream sequences. I headcanon that she was born with an identical twin sister who didnāt survive. Since Muffy is short for Mary Alice, I assume that one was called Mary and the other was called Alice. This might also explain why her parents spoil her so much, if she had a sickly start to life.
I remember a while ago I saw a post about what American schools would be like in the BNHA universe. It was all fun and memes and junk and thatās cool and all but thinking about it honestly, I can see the US using the development of quirks as an opportunity to become a fully militarized state.
Military school/ joining the military becomes mandatory to āhelp people control their quirksā
People with more combat based quirks get wesealed into staying longer/starting a military career because āthink of how this can serve your countryā
You donāt see people with combat quirks older than like 15 out and about very often and when you do everyone treats them like a pariah. Americaās history of nationalism making the general public think of anyone who āshouldā (people with combat quirks) join the military not doing that should be seen as some kind of treason.
Even people whose quirks have extreame negative side affects with overuse are forced to do it over and over, it would take an extreme side affect (Iām talking blood boiling, organs beginning to liquify, multiple brain hemorrhages, bones turning to dust) for them to be allowed to leave, and even then people see you as some kind of deserter if you donāt have an obvious extreame looking scar
Edward Nygmaās Childhood Headcanons
-Is an only child
-Wasnāt born and raised in Gotham, but in a suburban area about two hoursā drive away.
-While not raised in the kind of poverty Fish Mooney and Oswald Cobblepot faced, didnāt have much money growing up and lived in a lower-middle class, blue-collar household.
-Was raised in a somewhat conservative household.
-From an early age his IQ has been nearly off the charts, but started showing signs of OCD and Apsergerās, which to his parents was unacceptable. Ā
-While not physically abusive, both parents, especially his father were emotionally and verbally abusive.
-Didnāt have friends growing up, at least among his peers. Ā A few of his teachers liked him, humored him when he went on tangents, and let him eat lunch in their classroom. Ā They told him it would get better in college or adulthood, and for the longest time he believed them.
-First guy he ever liked was a teacher; a cool teacher fresh out of college who taught English at his high school. Ā He hadnāt known romantic or sexual orientations could be fluid, that he could like a boy if heād like girls before. Ā It took a few years and research for him to learn everything he wanted to know about romantic orientation, sexual orientation, and gender identity, but it helped. Ā Heād been worried it was yet another thing that made him abnormal.
-Was put on a lot of overlapping behavioral medication toĀ āfix himā, sometimes to disastrous effect. Ā When he tried to avoid the meds, flush them down the toilet, his parents forced him to take the medication and would supervise to a humiliating extent.
-The turning point, the moment for which Ed canāt forgive his parents and doesnāt want to see or interact with them again, was the worst episode of overlapping meds when he was a teenager and went through a series of medically-induced epileptic seizures and was sent to the ER. Ā His parents didnāt seem sorry at what they did to him, but instead seemed annoyed at the inconvenience.
-Found a community college that offered classes to high school students when he was fourteen, and rode his bike there four times a week after school. Ā Speaking with college professors and getting college credit as a high school student is one of his better childhood/adolescent memories. Ā It made him feel acceptable, like there was not only a place for him, but he stood to be more successful than his more socially-savvy peers and the kids who called himĀ āfreak.ā
-Ā āYou have any idea how much money youāre costing us trying to fix you?ā
-His original surname is Nashton. Ā He had it legally changed to Nygma in college. Ā He hasnāt spoken to his parents since he was twenty, and he imagines they donāt miss him, either.
-Ed is certain his parents didnāt love him. Ā He sometimes wishes he had older friends who could act like surrogate parental figures, but no luck.

Dark Ash Headcanon
Okay, so Iāve had random ideas about Dark Ash for some time now. Hereās my latest one.
Thanks to an incident in the Mirror Cave, a darker version of Ash is created. One that symbolizes the embodiment of his negative emotions. Of course, he wreaks havoc and shit, but what I want to go over is his demeanor.
This Dark Ash doesnāt look evil, or insane, or bloodthirsty. No. He has a scowl on his face. As for his eyes... he looks like heās about ready to angrily burst into tears. Heās even got markings running along his cheeks that vaguely resemble tear streaks. And they pulsate a dark purple when heās ready to attack, like he has actual tears streaming down his face.
Even his movements and poses seem depressed. When heās absorbing Dark Aura, he curls up into what resembles a fetal position- a position one would make when upset.
And to top it off, the only word he speaks isĀ āwhyā. And he says it as if heās asking Arceus why something bad happened.
As for why heās like this? Four words: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Yes, Ash has it in my canon. Heās been abused by his childhood classmates, and neglected by his teachers. Heās been burying those feelings for years, and been doing a pretty good job at it. He always appears happy and optimistic, so long as no one mentions his childhood... and thankfully, no one has.
Dark Ash represents what those feelings heās buried inside: Loneliness. Hurt. An intense longing for the affection he was denied as a child. And most of all, a growing distrust towards the world around him. He attacks because he thinks the worldās going to hurt him again...
Whatcha think?
Depressing Steven Universe headcanon #3
Stevenās half-Gem right? And Gems live for what appears to be forever, or close enough if theyāre not damaged. So like, not only is it highly likely that heāll outlive Greg (which is the norm in parent-child relationships), heāll also probably outlive all of his friends, and more broadly, all of beach city. In fact, if he turns out to be a good fighter, heāll probably outlive every friend he makes, with the exception of the Crystal Gems.
Which brings me to my second point: heās also half-human. So he probably will still age, albeit slowly. And as such, eventually the Crystal Gems are gonna lose Rose a second time.
