Let me tell you a story
Here is one of the most awkward moments in my recent life. Picture this, it's dinner time. One of my best friends is sitting next to me happily discussing music with my Dad, everyone is a little inebriated or at least had their joints oiled with wine. My step mother is getting a little moody from her drinking, but hey that's normal. Dad's friends J and E have come over as well. J and E have recently become a couple and are being lovey with each other. J leaves the table for a bit, leaving me to chat to E who is rather tipsy.
E then proceeds to ask me about my love life, in particular if I'm dating my friend. I shake my head. E then starts asking why not and suggests I should at least sleep with him. I mentioned that sex doesn't really do anything for me, to which she starts talking about how I haven't been with the right person and looks to where J had been sitting. The conversation then starts to discuss my sexual preferences and also that I should, most definitely at least try sleeping with my friend to which I sort of promise I would to shut her up about it.
I'd like you to bare in mind the following:
E has known me since I was little. So has J. I used to play with either of their kids when we were little.
My best friend is still sitting next to me and can hear EVERYTHING
My friend is trying to hold a conversation with my DAD while this is going on.
E has recently become my dentist....
And finally my friend is also my Ex....
So basically my Dentist/family friend is trying to convince me that I should sleep with my friend/ex in front of my Dad who is having a conversation with my friend/ex and could probably hear everything while we discussed my sex life, E's sex life with J, the fact that it hasn't been particularly eventful and that I also like girls....
The sooner they get familiar with it the sooner they will lose the fear.
