I recently finished binging this drama, and I have to say, it’s definitely worth watching. As someone who doesn’t really watch Chinese fantasy dramas, this show’s script and story really impressed me. It’s a tragedy. I love tragedies. The build up and set up makes the last 15 so episodes so tragic and so hard to watch because of all the emotions the characters have built up. The acting and story made my heart hurt for each character and plot line in the story. It’s so so so tragic, and I love that so so so much.
In numbers, I would rate it around 7/10. The 3 points off are for the ending. This is just my own preference but I would’ve loved it if it ended as a tragedy. I wish the last episode didn’t happen and I, as a viewer, wish I was left with heartbreak, sadness, and sympathy. The story of the whole drama is tragic, but the last episode is happy? I think the ending was unnecessary, but I still love the show. It’s so worth the watch.
