It made your ears hurt, the loud thudding of your heart, the beating of  your feet against the ground. How long had you been running? You couldn’t remember. But you didn’t dare to look back.You could’t, even if you tried the tears that might have peaked through would blur your vision. You couldn’t you just couldn’t. It hurt. It hurt so much. You couldn’t go back. 

So you ran. 

You ran til your legs hurt, then you ran more. You’d think you’d remember from your lusus raising you, how to be strong how to survive. How to live. But here you were bleeding and running for your life and pride.

I hadn’t even dawned on you, where you were heading. Where your legs had taken you without having to ask them to. They took you somewhere safe, someone who would hold you, someone who would protect you. Demuye.
