It had taken her ages, far more than she would have liked, to finally find this particular facility and even longer to plan out how to infiltrate it. With a few weeks and the backdrop of night, the Vouivre had found away in. Although there were various projects held within these halls, all of it was connected to one single test subject - the very person she’d been trying to find.
Alarms were tripped along the way, each evacuated section searched and destroyed. Copies and other assorted records were snatched in drives before sent to flames. She’d yet to encounter this lab’s target, large as it was compared to then.
Perhaps, her presence had been known.
Many rooms were already emptied, equipment sent towards other hidden labs. A stray, physical invoice was left lying on the ground, only to be pocketed for later. There were a few other items of similar note. What couldn’t be kept was snapped and discarded. With the lull of the night, Saria took her time, even with the biting agitation on the back of her mind. She needed to clean this lab thoroughly, properly, remove any evidence of wrongdoing -- and there was plenty to be cleaned.
It wouldn’t be long before they would catch on, she had imagined, especially when parts of the facility were already destroyed through her seemingly random explosions throughout. She had considered even their safety, after all, by placing certain sections under evacuation and enclosed. The ‘simple’ tech she had borrowed worked wonders here.
Then she came across an oddly reinforced room.
Alarms were blaring; lights were flashing. Yet, all she did was stare at the room. She knew just who was inside, and closed her eyes as calcium began to grow around her fists.
Bang! Bang!
Bang!
Each punch left another dent on the door. Each punch was stronger than the last.
Despite the strength applied each time, Saria was trying to be careful. ( Even if there was likely an easier way considering the door’s joints. ) Then, there was a crack, and the Vouivre’s hand flew through.
She drew back quickly, peering inside.
The bright light filled the room, and she could see the familiar dark haired Lupo. She’d changed; there’s no doubt about that, but Saria still recognized them. The Oripathy had worsened, and there’s a wildness to their form that reminded her of the time when she’d first found them. Guilt might have found its home in her chest, but it didn’t stop the sense of relief to see the Lupo in once piece.
She made the hole in the door bigger, large enough to drag them through and then extended her arm once more.
‘ I finally found you, Akame. ’
