I just realized a couple of Shawn’s Body/demonverse things while I rest, spoilers up to Other Worlds and future chapters of We Appreciate Power (I haven’t forgotten them!)
Caedmon never tells Lassiter “Oh hey fyi, your partner’s a harpy witch, you don’t have to hide yourself from your best friend” because 1) he’s a Hell King ie a nearly perfect liar, therefore Lassie doesn’t believe him by default 2) Lassie is stubborn as fuck and wouldn’t believe Caedmon out of sheer stupidity 3) it’s Juliet’s and Lassiter’s choice to make, not his, and the most important: 4) free entertainment watching his demon son and his witchy adopted daughter being awkward around each other.
Gus has used his stomach mouth to eat his coworker’s lunches if they piss him off.
Henry is Suffering™️ because he has a Dad feeling that Gus is different and he has to keep being The Secretkeeper for Tweedledee and Tweedledumbass (Shawn)
The Fair Folk exist in this verse. They’re basically beings of the Arcane/Old Knowledge. They’re terrifying. They’re incredibly good at dealmaking, rivaling demons. A Fae has hexagonal pupils instead of round ones when in human glamour.
People can wield magic in this verse without becoming vessels but they’ll be somewhat limited by that ie they don’t have access to the range that vessels have. Magic is as much a negotiation as it is energy (check out Religion For Breakfast, Overly Sarcastic Productions, Savage Books Literary Editing, and Tale Foundry’s takes on Magic!). In theory, anyone can learn magic!
Will add more notes the more I refine them!
