You wring your hands nervously, looking at the contract before you.
"Come on, darling," The horned figure across the table from you purrs. You force yourself to look up at them. They've got a cigar in one hand, smoking lightly, and a smug, almost knowing smile on their face. Their body is definitely nothing to scoff at, either. They've got claws, an idly flicking tail, wings... almost everything you'd expect a demon to have. They're so... spiky.
One thing you hadn't expected, though, is just how much pudge would be on their body. You thought demons would be... a lot more scrawny, considering the fact that they live in hell. You can tell that this demon works out a lot, as muscles ripple under their skin when they move, but they don't work out enough. Or maybe their diet is just packed with SO many calories that it's hard to work the pudge off...?
Speaking of their diet, you can't help but steal a glance at their belly. There's a soft glow emanating from their middle, along with muffled screams and cries. Their stomach is shifting and bucking, too. Whatever they've got in there definitely isn't happy...
"Aha, um," You clear your throat, forcing yourself to look back up at their face. "Hypothetically speaking... when someone signs a contract with you, what, uh, what happens to their soul once they die?"
The demon quirks a brow, and then leans back, crossing one leg over the other.
"Exactly what the contract says," They say matter-of-factly. "They die, and their soul goes to me."
You swallow thickly. Somehow, you get this feeling that there's more.
"That's not what I mean. What do you demons do with souls?"
Their expression changes, darkening, and they give you a sinister smile, slowly running a clawed hand over their squirming belly.
"A demon's gotta eat," They purr, voice light as a feather. As soon as they say that, you feel the color and warmth drain from your face. No, you weren't imagining things, then. This demon's stomach? It's full of someone's soul.
Well... it could always be worse, right? Surely souls don't feel pain. Not the way a mortal body would. Even still, the shifting and squirming in the demon's stomach is so... vivid. How can someone's soul be that big? That solid...? And... how it is even possible to consume and digest a soul?
The demon chuckles. "You're wrong," they say in a sing-song voice. "Your soul will feel every second of this. Every delicious second. I get to decide how long your soul will stay, too~ I usually keep a soul until I've forged my next contract... once the person's signed, I fully absorb the last soul I was working on."
You can't help but feel icy terror at the demon's response. Your soul will feel it? Can the demon hear your thoughts? What if you don't sign the contract? What if-
"Of course I can bear your thoughts," The demon says, cutting off your thoughts. Then, their expression darkens, and their smile drops completely. They start massaging their gut firmly with one hand, and as they do, you watch in real time as the bulges in their gut begin to soften and shrink.

And here he is! The spooky boi. His ghost and Human form! I decided to call him Shade because spooky ghost. I'm not very creative with names XD
- He/Him
- About 7 f. 3 in. (ghost) and 5 f. 10 in. (Human)
- Lived during the 1700s
- Was a pirate in his life
- Died at the age of 37
- Was cursed to linger even after death (still gotta make up a lore reason as to why)
- Was forced to watch his family die in Front of him without being able to stop it
- Driven mad by grief and guilt, He spent his remaining life at sea, causing pain and havoc
- He would often swallow his prisoners whole and digest them alive because he's terrible like that
- Though, much to his dismay, He cannot digest any living being as a ghost
And that's why his ghost form is a nonfatal pred c:
Not because He wants to but because He literally cannot digest anyone xD
Soo as a redemption Arc I had this idea that Shade becomes a sort of guide for lost souls. Lost souls that are sent to the After life and have to be ferried to the other side.
It's a sort of punishment for Shade for All the harm He has caused. At first he is very unhappy and annoyed but over time He does start to care for These tiny, little, helpless beings in his care. Though he would never admit to it lmao.
He's still a massive grump, but he does take his role as guardian very seriously and will protect the souls in his care with his life.
He Transports adult souls inside his belly for safe keeping. But the children souls He carries around in a belly pouch, like a kangaroo, with the Kids as little joeys c:
I will Post more about it in the future! I personally love this concept but tell me what you guys think!
Here is the creature the Guardians have to fend off to protect souls: Demons!
-They were Guardians once, until they corrupted their purpose
-They either ate or harmed Souls, basically doing the exact opposite a Guardian should do, condemning them
-Now they have to swallow the energy/life force of the souls to stay alive-Can become one with the Shadows
-Fly through the sky in a bird-like form
They are basically all the people who didn't care about the Second chance. The ones who chose to continue doing awful things and threw away any opportunity to be better. They abused and hurt the souls in their care, so they are now forever cursed.
Idk if they can ever come back from that. Idk if they will ever be able to reverse that process and become a guardian again. It would be nice but I also want this to Stick. It's a huge consequence and I don't want it to be easily reversable. Kinda takes away the punishment. Like, what happens to someone if they're offered the chance to be better but refuse to take it over and over and over again? I mean, there should be consequences to that, right?
The souls that are killed and/or devoured are gone forever btw. They don't go to heaven or hell. They're completely eradicated.
So huge consequences and maybe a lil motivator for Guardians to do their Job, otherwise they might Turn into a Beast.
A woman comes home to find her roommate acting strange... And very hungry.
There's actually no vore in this one because it's supposed to be an origin for another story I'm working on, but haven't gotten around to posting yet. I suppose I'll just have to start at the beginning and take you guys along for the ride!
Story under the cut
(1.5k words, again no vore but it is attempted and would be safe in this universe)
"Kai, I'm back!" Xóchitl called out as she locked up the front door to their flat. She sighed and quickly slumped onto the couch, letting her bag fall to the ground. She knew she'd have to finish her assignments and study for the exam tomorrow, but for now, she could rest.
"Kai? You there?" Xóchi frowned, sitting upright as she listened for any indication that the man had heard her. He didn't have a class today, and she was pretty sure he volunteered on Fridays, so unless he had somewhere else to be, he should be home.
Hearing some weird noise, the woman got up to check Kai's room. The door was open, but she still knocked.
"Ey, you good mano?" She asked, but her bubbly demeanor turned to concern as she got no response aside from more groaning noises.
She peeked into the room to see Kai's green eyes staring out the door, but not at anything in particular. Frowning, she walked in and waved a hand in front of him. He did this sometimes, staring off into the distance, no doubt lost in thought.
The noise she heard must've been his stomach, she figured. "Kai, I swear if you forgot to eat again because you've been staring at this wall," she tutted.
"Hm?" Green eyes flicked over to the woman before quickly flicking away. "Oh, right. Sorry, Xóchi."
Something was wrong, and Xóchi could tell. Sure, Kai had spaced out on occasion, but this time seemed different; this time seemed worse.
"Hey, Kai?"
The woman placed a hand on her roommate's shoulder, only to feel his muscles tense at her touch. She frowned and took her hand away, not wanting to make him uncomfortable.
"Wanna talk?"
The man shook his head slowly, long hair shifting and inadvertently covering his eyes as he did, but truth be told he was grateful for it. It meant he didn't have to look his friend in the eyes.
Even just being near her was beginning to be agonizing for Kai, and looking at her only made him want her more. His stomach let out another growl, causing him to wrap his arms around his middle to try and deal with the hunger pangs. He couldn't keep hiding this part of him, he just couldn't.
"Kai? You want me to get you some food?"
The man felt his chest tighten at the question. He was hungry all right, but food wasn't what he was craving. He lifted his head up, brushing his black bangs away from his face as he forced himself to look at his friend.
"I'm alright, Xoch," he lied, plastering a fake smile on that didn't fool anyone.
"Kai, I'm worried about you, I-" Xóchitl continued to talk, but Kai had stopped paying attention.
All he could focus on was the warmth of Xóchi's hand when she placed it on his arm as she started talking. Kai's chest tightened again, but this time for a different reason. Every time he was with Xóchi he could feel his heart quicken, and he couldn't ignore it any longer.
He just wanted to be close to her, to have her close to him, to-
"Kai! What are you doing?!"
The alarm in her voice snapped him out of his thoughts and he was met with an expression he knew all too well: fear.
Xóchitl had already jumped up and had backed away from the man. Part of her kept repeating that she must have been mistaken, but she knew what she had just seen.
While she had been talking to Kai, trying to get him to open up, she felt a drop on her hand. She looked down to see saliva dripping slowly. She followed it up until she was face to face with Kai, but all she could focus on was his mouth.
Sharp fangs that had never been there before and a long forked tongue reaching out for her. His stomach let out another loud growl and the woman's eyes widened as she put two and two together.
"Kai! What are you doing?!"
The man's eyes widened in realization and he got up to apologize and try to calm his friend down, but then his stomach growled again. It wanted her.
Kai let out a sharp inhale as he doubled over from the hunger. When he rose back up, he looked at Xóchi, his own eyes filled with the same fear as hers. Suddenly, his eyes closed and when they opened again they were slitted like a cat's or a snake's.
Xóchitl backed away as her friend came closer. Soon she had backed herself against the wall, but still Kai came closer. She could see the hunger in his eyes, something she had never seen before.
Her gaze moved away from his eyes, she had to break contact with them. Looking at them only sent chills down her spine. She looked up but what she saw made her regret her choice. Two small black nubs had begun to sprout from Kai's head...
"Kai! Stop that!!" Her voice was slightly shaky now.
He opened his maw once more, stomach groaning. Xóchitl felt something inside of her chest swell as her fear was momentarily replaced.
"Kai!! I said stop!" Xóchitl yelled, socking him in the jaw.
"Ow, fuck!"
Xótchil took the opportunity to dash past the thing that was Kai. She got on the other side of him and was ready to make a break for the door when she decided to hazard a glance back at him and saw the creature– no, Kai– stagger back before looking up at her, his expression having changed from hunger to something unreadable, but not dangerous.
"What are you?" Xóchitl cautiously asked, backing away as her roommate looked at her with wide green eyes. Those damn eyes. They always made her weak in the knees, but seeing them now, with their slit pupils looking frantically through her as if she would disappear the second they focused on her, as if she were a spot in their vision they could only ever chase, it made her uneasy.
A whip tail emerged from behind him. The small black nibs on his head had gradually grown into horns and he backed away as he watched himself transform. The demon whined,
"I.. I'm your friend."
"You tried to eat me!!!"
The man winced at her words. She was right. A hand rubbed his jaw where it still stung from her blow.
"It won't happen again, I promise!" The demon pleaded.
He meant it. He wouldn't let it happen again. He couldn't. Even if it meant going against his every demonic instinct to hold her close and never let her go, he would find a way to continue their friendship. He would do anything if it meant the person he loved would stop looking at him with fear in her eyes.
Xóchitl shook her head, backing away more as she watched her friend's desperate response. She could tell he didn't mean to hurt her, but still...
"What are you." She repeated, this time as a demand.
"I..." One clawed hand ran through jet black hair as another continued to nurse the bruise. Xóchitl hadn't noticed until now, but her friend now had an extra pair of arms, the hands of which fiddled nervously with each other.
"I'm a demon." The man sighed and averted his gaze as he admitted his true nature.
"A... Demon?" The human blinked. "Un diablo..." She repeated the word in spanish, hoping it would make more sense in her mother tongue, but it didn't.
"Sí, claro," the demon responded in turn, not minding the language change. "Un diablo..."
The two lower arms on the man moved to hug his middle as he awaited a reaction from the human woman. It was as if the realization of what he was had just sunk in, like he was confirming it to himself as much as he was confirming it to her.
"How...?" Was all Xóchi could manage to get out of that sentence before she shook her head, dropping the question. She looked to her friend, her face searching for answers.
"You lied to me, Kai! How could you do that?" As the woman finished her sentence, something struck her.
"If you lied about what you are, what about... who you are?" Xóchi started, trying to form her thoughts. "I-if you're a demon... Is Kai even your name?"
"I..." The demon flinched back. He was expecting fear, or more anger, and while Xóchi certainly sounded angry, she more so sounded hurt.
'She has every right to be,' he thought. 'I have been lying to her ever since we met.'
"Not exactly," the man sighed, knowing he had to start telling the truth. "B-but it's part of it!"
Xóchitl titled her head at the response, not sure what she was expecting, but it wasn't that.
"Really?" Now the woman was more curious than anything, and she had to ask the obvious. "What's the rest of it?"
Kai looked up at his friend, heart wrenching in his chest as he opened his mouth to speak. In giving away his name, he was practically handing this human a knife and turning away, waiting for her to stab him, but he loved her and he owed it to her after what he'd put her through.
"...Ancyra." something in his chest was tearing open at the target he was painting on his back, but he continued. "It's.. Ancyra."
Queen Felina ,the demon queen.Taking the form of a giant hungry tigress, she loves to gobble up mortals and demons alike .The Queen rules alone ,there used to be a King ,but the Queen ate him ,
Queen Felina loves to swallow mortals whole. She's a fatal pred ,meaning if the queen eats you ,thats it ,your fate is to be digested body and soul by the Demon Tigresses unforgiving belly, your soul absorbed into her magic
The priest had a request for an exorcism. She usually dealt with house hauntings, never a haunted person. But her new business partner assured her it would be no issue.
The priest parked in the gravel driveway of an old Victorian home. She emerged from her black cadillac, in her black robe, her dark hair braided neatly. She wore leather gloves, holding a sleek black briefcase, the only white being her clerical collar.
She rang the doorbell once and seconds later it opened to a distraught older woman, hair frizzled from stress. She invited the priest into the home, and brought her to the parlor. The priest accepted a cup of tea, and listened to the lady’s struggles.
“It’s my son,” the old woman said, “he came home to help me clean my basement… but he wasn’t the same afterwards, I’m at my wits end, his wife refuses to see him. He’s scared his own children. Please Mother, help him. You will, won’t you?”
“Of course,” the priest said in a calming voice, like a psychotherapist. “Where is your son now?”
“He’s down there still, he hasn’t come out in days”
“Oh dear,” the priest said sympathetically. “Could I perhaps have a moment alone with him, if you don’t mind.”
—
“Hello David,” the priest said politely. David snarled at her.
“I’m sure you know why I’m here.”
‘David’ grinned maliciously. He didn’t look right, his teeth were wrong, and it seemed like he had black mould growing on him. Not healthy.
“You think you can just get rid of me?”
The priest sighed despondent, “I haven’t had much luck in the past to be honest. I don’t know how much you demons communicate with each other, but I’ve never had a reputation as a formidable exorcist.
David laughed at her candidness.
The priest smiled politely, “but recently I’ve gotten some assistance.”
She patted her briefcase. The devil’s eyes flashed to it, a kind of recognition registered with them.
“It’s been a game changer, really.”
David looked a little curious, a little scared, “what’s in there?”
“I’ll show you in a minute, but first, I’d like to give you the chance to leave of your own volition.”
David stared at her humorously. “You can’t threaten me.” But there was some fear in the devils’ voice, or at least anticipation. It could tell there was something wrong. There was something off about the briefcase, but they couldn’t put their finger on it.
It was just a briefcase; sleek, black, a slight reflective shine. But it seemed to buzz with an energy, maybe it was just how the priest was talking it up, making it seem important. But whatever was in there couldn’t be all that dangerous to the devil. Salt, sage, holy water, the works. Nothing the devil couldn’t dodge.
In fact, it planned to kill the priest soon, but it waited for her to reach over and unclasp the silver lock, and as she lifted the bag open, a shadow leapt out and knocked David back, latching onto him and leaching into his eyes and mouth, seeping in like ink.
And that was it. David opened his eyes, appearing calmer, he licked his lips as if he had just tasted something.
“Mm, that was good.” He picked at his teeth.
“You got it?” the priest asked.
“Ah, yep, all taken care of,” he patted his stomach.
The empty briefcase lay open on the table. As it was now, empty, it looked a lot like a normal briefcase. David too looked less possessed, but that was only because this demon was better at hiding it.
“Okay, get back in the bag.”
The demon sighed, then re-emerged, spilling out of it’s temporary host and landing on the table. It was hard to describe a shadow as being full, but it looked full. It slinked back lazily into the briefcase, and the priest closed the lid on it, pressing it down slightly so the latch would fit.
David shook his head, “I’m back…”
“Are you alright?”
“I… I think so? Is it…?” he looked at the briefcase, because it twitched like there was a struggle going on.
“Um, yes,” the priest said, “I’ve extracted the spirit from you, and I have it in here. Don’t worry, I will dispose of it properly.” She petted the suitcase, as if trying to calm it.
David looked sceptical, but since he didn’t fully understand the situation, he took the priests word for it.
“Thank you,” he breathed, bowing slightly.
“Not at all,” she said, chipper, “Would you like to come upstairs.”
—
The older woman embraced her son when she saw him, the priest said goodbye quietly and left them to have their reunion.
She walked down the gravel drive with her suitcase - a little heavier than it was when she arrived, her arm ached slightly.
She laid it to rest on the passenger seat of her car, placing it gently because it seemed like too much disturbance would cause it to rip open. It looked cramped, like someone had stuffed too many folders or perhaps clothing into it at once.
She carefully put the seatbelt through the handle and buckled it in so that it wouldn’t fall into the footwell during the ride. She placed a hand on it, the leather was warm to the touch, and pliant. She rubbed back and forth soothingly and felt it grumbling under her hand. She heard too a faint, muffled, meaty gurgle inside.
