Howdy folks, 𝓇𝑒𝓁𝒾𝒶𝒷𝓁𝑒 𝓂𝑒𝓈𝓈𝑒𝓃𝑔𝑒𝓇 𝒦𝓁𝒶𝒽 here for another Werewolf Wednesday update. 😓 Look, as much as I like 𝘢 𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘫𝘰𝘨, I hope that every assignment isn’t going to end with me hauling ass back to the City! Omg maybe I’ll get another hot spring trip. 🤔🙃 According to what Lubeck told me, that as bad as it sounds to have a portal opening to the demon realm, it doesn’t really change how many demons are gonna be running about here. Tbh that’s not very comforting since that means they already just come and go as they want. 🙄 Instead the purpose of The Demon Gateway is to allow mortals to enter their realm… The Monster Kingdom records say that this hasn’t happened 𝙨𝙪𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙛𝙪𝙡𝙡𝙮 in a few centuries. The Prince believes the demon world is trying to connect with ours and invite a mortal in. The official message I have to bear is that many of the roads north of the Monster Kingdom are going to be blockaded and patrolled until this matter is resolved. Ugh, I’m not excited to be the liaison for political news like that… I hate that I’m the perfect fall guy lol. I suspect a few motivations behind the Monster Kingdom’s actions. They probably want to limit collateral damage by keeping travelers far from the call of The Demon Gate. Maybe they fear many being ensnared and captured with the gate being opened. Imagine- demons kidnapping a monster! HA, poetic karma! Or perhaps they want one of their soldiers or magicians to be the first to pull off an entry to the demon realm? I wonder what they’d get from that… For that matter I wonder what they 𝘥𝘰 with the demons they catch?

“Tsk. Cease your complaints outsider, we still have further to go, let us make haste.” Y’know, I’m glad it was Lubeck who spoke up- because the other monsters looked about ready to burst with rage when I wasn’t impressed with them. Our path took us down an ancient and nearly sunken causeway, the old limestone slick with moss. This must have been quite the sight to behold back in the day, I bet that old swamp was a lake back then. Lucky for me we didn’t run into anything else as exciting as a big-ass demon. The causeway led to an open plaza, with a massive lone stone arch at the end. “The Demon Gateway?” Sure enough. I’d heard stories about it, and I even found some records kept in the LOSC archives. “Well it looks just like the illustrations but it's just a big heap of stone, no?” “Let him in closer, I’ll handle the clearance when we get back.” I got a lucky break from Lubeck, I happily took the chance to inspect the ruins. “What do you see?” it was faint but… “They’re glowing.” The engravings along the arch were quite arcane, but somehow… familiar? “Correct, the previous guards posted here corroborate that the Gate has been periodically glowing. It’s been getting brighter too. This is why we asked for an emissary to be sent.” Great… the portal to the demon realm seems to be opening up. That’s only a lil ominous.
