My "Coming Out" Hate.
I know one of the many reasons people say demi-s aren’t part of the LGBTQA is because they don’t get hate. Well, let me tell you a thing; when I came out to my mom as demisexual, and explained it to her, she told me that because I was abused as a kid, that I will get over the whole “partially asexual” thing. When I came out to a close friend of mine, she said that “asexuals are just people who have been raped or abused, they’ll get over it and eventually come out as whatever real sexuality they are.” And finally, when I told a gay acquaintance of mine that I was demi, he scoffed “Um those are straight people who are only gay for SOME people.” So i had to defend myself and argue back that it WASN’T what he thought it was. Never had I ever been so offended. So before someone says demi-s don’t get hate… Please tell them that they are wrong. Because we do get hate, by people who refuse to educate themselves, by people who deny its existence, and even by the LGBTQA people themselves. I personally want to say all the demi-s out there that its okay, and that not all people hate us either. I once told a polysexual what a demisexual was and she said that it was the coolest thing she had ever heard of. From one demisexual to another I love and support you all.
how would you even be "part asexual" using that label saying being half-asexual is "being sexually attracted only to people with whom you hold strong bonds" is like so you can be super duper sexual as long as you're really tight with that person?? that makes no fucking sense "oh but wow demisexual i'm sooo part-asexual even if i fuck this person i love every 3 hours"
queeravocado how about you answer that
