I think the quote featured says everything about her ability to speak up for who & what she believes is right. She's impatient & warring, eager & spirited. Because of these traits she can seem self-centered & childlike, or bossy, when she's insecure & sensitive. Birdie is a both a disruptor and a survivor. She is moody, secretive, stubborn. She breaks the rules of the secret doomsday prepper compound and is unafraid of rebellion. My favorite thing about her is the comic book story she draws about Bucky Beaverman, the same Bucky her sister Honey writes letters to in her notebook, that same imaginary friend from their childhood. If Birdie was a 21 Pilots quote it would be: "Fight it, take the pain, ignite it." If I could pick an actress to play Birdie in a movie it would be Emily Rudd. She is the most complex character I've ever developed & I love her the most.
