I don't know what to do with this Fritz? I accidentally fell in love with him, but being a tiny Beastformer is a huge part of his story so. Hmph. Maybe it was a decision he made after he joined the Autobots? Maybe it's some alternate reality version of him. Who knows? I sure don't!
Trying to figure out Fritz’s alt mode wing design, but he can lift a few select plates of his armor, namely his chest and cheeks, to make himself appear bigger and more ‘intimidating’.
It was useful on Eukaris. Not so much when everyone around him is twenty feet tall or larger.
Fritz: "You have to take a break and recharge! You're exhausted! Make sure you're getting the proper amount of fuel! You gotta take care of your spark!"
Also Fritz: *recharges for a half hour every two weeks, stresses over Scratch's energon consumption and neglects his own, can hear Chela calling his name when he offlines his optics*
Whenever Fritz poofs up like that to threaten someone, he's also playing a static feedback loop similar to the noise angry owls make and clicking his beak. If it's not intimidating, it's at least unsettling and uncomfortable enough that it'll give whoever is bothering him a moment of pause.

I’m having so much trouble figuring out how old Fritz is. Like. It’s not super important because he spent most of his life on Eukaris so he wouldn’t have been aware of the goings on elsewhere, but it’s still frustrating to have SO MUCH INFORMATION and yet not be able to find what I need.
I guess that’s my fault for making him from a world they literally just explored for the first time not too long ago.
Either way, I know he left home because he didn’t believe that Standard-formers could really be as bad as everyone said they were. In a way he was right, but also the main reason his cog got hecked up was because the medic who was in charge of making his Decepticon badge nicked his spark casing a little too far in and wasn’t too concerned since he was ‘just a beastformer’. He got Hell about not having a vehicle mode from some of the Cons he worked with before being firmly planted in recruiter status, but he didn't think too much of it. He was determined to prove he could be just as useful to the cause as anyone else. Form does not dictate Function and what not.
Treads was the first one to really see his beast form as a good thing and even then he had a habit of seeing him more as a pet than an equal. He tended to get grumpy if Fritz got stuck in his bot form rather than his alt because he wasn’t as useful that way and there was more than one occasion where Treads grabbed him a little rough near his head in an attempt to force a transformation despite his cog. The tiny bird was just happy to feel wanted and still feels like Treads genuinely enjoyed his company. Y'know. Before he sold him out to the DJD.
Not so Fun Fact:
Fritz keeps a thorough list in his personal data pad of every Con he ever recruited. He knows their names. Their faces. It used to be a record of his pride, his assistance granted to the cause he loved! Now, as more names get a note added next to them detailing exactly how they died, he uses it as a reminder of what he's done.
The bad thing about being a small bird in his alt mode is that if Fritz is fluttering along ahead of or behind Scratch in a crowd and someone recognizes him, he is so easy to just yank out of the air. Like. He can't stop you.
