7. What’s the furthest you ever travelled? How long did it take to get there?

Solsona, Catalonia, Spain! It took me a total or 17 hours of plane riding, including my overlay, to get there, and was quite the jetlag.

14. If you went on any school trips, what was the most memorable school trip/thing that happened on a school trip?

I took so many school trips in elementary and middle school because I was very lucky to live in one of the original 13 colonies of America, so we had a lot of nature and history! I think my most memorable trips were to Williamsburg, VA, Annapolis, MD, and Gettysburg, PA, all wonderful historical sites with a lot of (sometimes bloody) history.

38. Would you want to live in any of the places you've travelled to?

I ended up with 37/45 points and received my full diploma. It was excruciatingly hard and stressful, made worse by the fact I attended an American public school, but it was the only redeeming part of my high school experience and it let me start college a semester and a half ahead.

I was raised in the South, and IB was the only way I was educated properly. I went to a school in the best county in Florida and it was worse than my middle and elementary school in my hometown in Maryland. If I hadn't taken IB, I would have learned outdated and/or incorrect material, especially in science and history. I am very grateful for my IB education.

However, it was also exhausting, mentally and physically, made worse by the fact that I took 4 HLs instead of 3 and some of my teachers should not have been teaching their subjects. I think a major reason that I did so well was just that I went above and beyond, even when I wasn't required to.

If I could do it over again, I would have taken IB Psychology instead of IB Art (since all my hard labor in art, self-teaching under a very confused and misguided teacher, did not gain me any credit). But besides that, I don't think I would change anything and I enjoyed what I learned. I just hate that it was in a public high school setting in America, which is awful. I am not one of those people who remembers high school fondly, and it would have been even more miserable if I hadn't taken IB.

I definitely recommend IB to students who are hard workers and incredibly ambitious. I have some questions for you hon:

What are you taking? When do your classes start? What are your goals? Do you love to learn and work hard? And finally...

Is there anything I can do to help you adjust? Do you need any kind of advice? I would be happy to mentor you, and the reason I make it public that I took IB is so I can help current students succeed. I started this blog because I got the flu during my first year of full IB (junior year) and my teacher didn't give me more time to study, so I got a 27% on a biology test and it CRUSHED me. Studyblr helped me build so many good habits and unlearn really toxic ways of thinking that I picked up from high school. I want to give back by helping IB students stress less and succeed more.

I have been really stressed about Animal Physiology because I got a bad grade and need to retake that exam... And the second time my extra credit doesn't count. I'll try but I can only spare 4 days for this because I need to improve 2-3 other subjects too...

So today I really rested: slept for 12 hours, spent some quality time with the most important people in my life and ate lots and lots of popcorn. I also interacted with 3 different cats, which was awesome.

for some reason i’m not particularly hyped for tomorrow? christmas is always fun, and i love the holidays, but i’ve been a bit pensive lately. hope i’ll snap out of it soon because the holidays deserve my full appreciation but alas !!! i think i’m just a bit concerned for the new year :))
