I'm one of the exploding number of the "retired at 50-something" crowd. I let the corporate career thing go in November of 2011. Not to disparage my former company (which shall remain nameless), let's just say that they really know how to write loudly on walls, shouting their interest in you no longer being there. Not being obtuse, I heard the writing, and got gone at the first decent opportunity.
So here I am, starting anew. I'm doing what I've wanted to do for the longest, which is sell my artwork online. During my corporate career I had the privilege to work with literally some of the best artists, designers and illustrators on this planet. Again, not being thick-headed (though thoroughly intimidated at first) I was smart enough to steal the best of their ideas until I developed my own point of view.
So if you're at all curious at what I do now, please feel free to check out my work at http://cocobuff.imagekind.com/ Search for me, Gregg DeGroat. Buy a print if you'd like. You may or may not like what I do, but you'll have to admit, it's different and unique.
