Finally rocked the limited edition Wereldkampioen stripes by @defeet_international today. Seemed appropriate considering @woutvanaert's crushing win today in #oostmalle. The stripes on black are 🔥🔥🔥. . Have to touch a bit on these @iamspecialized Recons. Purchased these through my shop EP mostly because of the ridiculously hot colorway. Had no intentions of using them for anything besides grinding sweet gravel. One full CX season later, the only issue I’ve had with them is the sole melted slightly when I held my feet too close and too long near the fire pit at #BikenetiCX. They were solid all season. Easy to run in and I never felt my feet move around while doing all the dumb shit you find yourself doing while racing cross. I Dremeled the sole around the cleat to ease mud shedding, provide pedal clearance, as well as improving clipping in/out at 175BPM. The new(ish) material the Recon is constructed of shows little or now wear. Other than where it melted, of course. They come highly recommended. . I’m curious, what’s your favorite CX/MTB shoe?
