I am celebrating 3 years of my photography today. I always think about Derbyshire, UK and what would have happened to me if I never went there on the 5th of May in 2017.
Regardless of what I'm celebrating though, I want to take this time to share and reflect exactly why I was originally there in the first place considering it wouldn't be fair if I was to 'forget' or at least not give it a mention. It was the day of my grandmother's funeral and it was held in Macclesfield in Cheshire, with her wake being held in Derbyshire. It doesn't feel real that it was 3 years ago and it was the first ever funeral I had ever attended in my life then, so it was all very new to me and that day, I discovered and met some family relatives that I never knew I had such as some cousins and a great auntie. Overall, that day was emotional but full of positives at the same time.
Thinking further on this, I will always dedicate my first ever photography works to my grandmother since she loved the lands of Derbyshire and had lived there for all of her life, I would say. It just feels right in my heart to do this as I do feel that this day shouldn't just be about me when my photography becomes involved. So nan, these first photos are in memory for you. ❤️
Anyways, even though I did say that I don't want this celebration to just be about me, it would be rude if I was not to finish this off by saying thank you to everyone who has supported me through these 3 years, it really means the world. Thank you. 💖
