I’m really not sure why Narinder thought that he wouldn’t get absolutely folded by the person who made him their bitch like?

#24 - “You’re so fucking hot when you’re mad”

BANG. SLAM.

Zuko jumped in his seat. There was obviously a commotion occurring down the hall, for he heard angry yelling and what suspiciously sounded like objects being thrown against the wall. 

Worse, they were coming from his wife’s office.

The Fire Lord rushed over to Katara’s office to see what the issue was, and when he opened the door, he had to duck because she threw a paper weight (unknowingly) at his head.

“Fucking assholes!” she yelled. Katara continued to slam her fists against the desk, throw random objects, and just yell obscenities. 

Zuko’s heart stopped, then immediately accelerated. It had been a while since he saw Katara so worked up and swearing like a pirate and…

He liked it.

Spirits, was he turned on right now?

He took a deep breath to calm himself and asked, “What’s going on, Katara?”

“These fuckin’ idiots that I have to manage and delegate my work to are morons!” she complained.

Ah, yes. That made sense. She was not a fan of those old pricks.

“Every time I tell them what to do they try to undermine me! Shitheads,” she muttered. “I’m their boss and they have the fucking audacity to talk back?!

“I know, I know I’m overreacting but I’ve been dealing with their garbage for a month and I just want this project to go perfectly and they’re going to mess it up if they keep pulling stupid ass shit and I just—fuck!!!”

Spirits above help Fire Lord Zuko.

Because he was enamored in that very moment. 

The emotion, the anger that poured out of Katara was so intense, Zuko was starstruck. He was well aware of Katara’s passion for this particular project, and he was damn proud of her progress with it despite all the setbacks she had been dealing with trying to wrangle in the old traditionalists. And it wasn’t just this project Katara was passionate about. She cared deeply for all of the work she managed, so seeing that side of his wife was normal.

But it wasn’t often he saw her angry. And when he did, it typically didn’t revolve around work she was passionate about, so he let his wife be angry and lent his good ear for a listen.

But to see her both passionate and angry?

Well, Fire Lord Zuko fell in love again, and he simply could not think straight. 

She was still yelling and complaining when Zuko approached her and wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her in for a kiss. Katara almost objected at first, but she kissed him back.

Then she regained her senses and pulled away, “Zuko! Can’t you see I’m fucking livid right now?! Why are you kissing me??”

He gave his sheepish smile that made her heart melt ever so slightly, and he said, “I know you’re mad and I’m sorry but I just… can’t pay attention to what you’re saying right now.”

She was about to yell at him but then he whispered in her ear in his raspy, husky voice, “I’m sorry, but I can’t listen right now because you’re so fucking hot when you’re mad. And passionate.”

Well.

That was… unexpected. Not unwelcome, though.

She felt a smirk grow on her face and she pushed Zuko’s face back to look at him. “I guess I can put my yelling on hold.”

Zuko shrugged. “You can yell, but not about the project…”

Katara couldn’t help but laugh. Not for long though, because Zuko immediately pressed his lips against hers, and she felt the heat and passion all in his kiss, practically begging for more.

Yeah, complaining could wait, Katara supposed.
