       freddie pauses for a moment, mentally scrolling through his recent media on his phone. “it’s actually a video,” he says, eyes lighting up at the prospect of others’ witnessing something he is proud of, although he would pretend to be embarrassed about it. after pulling his phone out of his pocket, he goes straight to july fourth and to the 4-minute video, pressing play.

       the freddie holding the phone hides his face, feigning shame. “so embarrassing, right??”

“ i’m from ecuador so i suppose it depends on what you consider gross … obviously i probably ate dirt and worms as a kid before my mom hit me over the head to teach me not to, but we eat guinea pigs and other bugs that aren’t common here .. “
