Three ACT Microskills for Neurospicy Depression
1) If I didn't have to spend so much energy fighting or judging how I'm feeling today, what thoughts, emotions, or body sensations would I notice? What would it be like to make just a little room for them instead of trying to make them disappear?
2) Depression can make it difficult to know what you need, and being neurodivergent can mean your needs look different from other people's. What is one genuine need your mind or body has today? If you trusted that this need was valid, how might you respond with kindness rather than criticism?
3) Even if depression gets to come along for the ride today, what is one small action that would move you 1% closer to the kind of person you want to be? Choose something that respects your current energy, sensory needs, and executive functioning, rather than what you think you "should" be able to do.
