Overall this piece took 3 pieces of paper. The background, the foreground and the detail work were all seperate pieces. The details include a pair of ribs i cut by hand (about the size of the tip of my thumb) and a heart (although not pictured very clearly, it is there) as well as the extra flame spouts.

Colouring was done with alcohol markers and water colour. I decided to forgo my usual “underpainting” of pencils, as i wanted both Luffy and Ace to look washed out and—well— deadlooking. Additionally, i used paint pens and thin strips of paper to create the skin peeling away from ace and the strings of flesh in the cavity of his chest.
