I love maximalist bujo/deco journaling so much. I, for one, think it's very sexy to take a medium that usually has a lot of white space and cram it full of as many colors and textures as your eyes can handle
Sorry I've been busy with stuff and things
Got a new sticker binder!! For all my heisei retro silliness~
Deco journal/collage is so fun and relaxing, highly recommend it! Also a great way to meaningfully use those stickers you've been hoarding.
Oh also here's a Penguin one from like a week ago :3
Persona 5 collage I made as a Christmas gift for my brother!!! WAOW!! This took an hour or so but it was AWESOME to make! I even did some new techniques, like cutting out the black stars and lines and even gluing gold foil + gold holo glitter!!
Do you perchance have any collage/scrapbooking/deco journaling
Like how to find right colored and themed stickers and other things
Your college's are peak
OMG AWWW thank you for asking!!! (I assume you meant to say "tips" at the end of that first sentence. Its ok, my brain just makes me omit words while typing too)
I didn't think anyone really cared about my collages tbh, that everyone's just here for the cute fatties, lol (I mean I don't blame them...) but scrapbooking and paper collages are something ive had so, SO much fun with this past year, it's a hobby I just felt ive needed to share! It's very relaxing and fulfilling to do, I highly recommend it!
Some things I'd recommend getting are one of these deco sticker books. I have two of them, and they are invaluable when it comes to filling in blank space and adding some pizazz. They come with hundreds of stickers in a whole bunch of colors, you're bound to use them in every collage. (You could also find these in smaller quanities in sheet form if you want too) I also recommend getting some sticker tweezers, it makes placing stickers, especially the smaller ones, much easier. With your hand out of the way, its also perfect for checking your composition before you lay them down.
Also this hobby has made me ✨️the peely master✨️🕺, in that i can peel off most stickers with ease. So if you really do mess up and/or need to rearrange, go slowly and pull lightly, nice and smooth with a constant speed. With that strategy, you should be able to get like 99 percent of stickers off a page! Seriously!
Some great ways to garner collage pieces i use are
1. Cutting out the art i like on the boxes of small figurines i buy! I get a figure, and a bunch of little cardboard cards with cool, readily printed designs on them! Yay!
I also like rounding the corners with a corner puncher i have, totally optional
2. Printing your own stickers using vinyl sheets and laminating them. This is great if you need really specific stickers for something. Sadly, in this day and age, you cannot go to target and buy stickers of like, Sly Cooper or something. Sad
You can also use sticker paper and not laminate it, or just print it on regular paper if you can't find/afford the goods, no pressure
In terms of adhesives, gluestick is ol reliable, but is a lil messy, can warp the paper, and take a bit to dry. Double sided tape is really good, but you lose a little speed when placing it down. So my favorite is glue tape! Its really fast, easy to use, and cheap to buy/get refills for. Only potential problem is that most models make a clickity clackity noise, which is very whimsical, but it has scared people ive been on voice calls with haha. (bc they couldn't figure out what it was lol) Also maybe don't use it in a library jfkgkskg
How i make a collage is i either pick a theme to influence the colors/vibe, or i do a junk journal approach, and as I pick out scraps of paper ive kept, I start to slowly build a color scheme and theme.
Laying things down, I go from borders and big background patterns first, then more central subjects like characters and objects. Then i keep overlapping and adding and keep adding smaller and smaller things to really fill it out. (this is what the deco stickers and sequins are used for) You'll get better with composition over time and find your own kinda style to it!
Anyway thats about all I have - hope this helps!! :3
