seo jiyeong - jiyeong’s scroll was found in her locker at the animal shelter she works at one morning: “no matter how much you wanted to forget, you both couldn’t make it out alive.” she puts the scroll back where she found it and buries it in the back of her mind.

rj boyle - rj finds his scroll in the bed he sleeps in during overnight shifts at the fire station: “no matter where you ran, he always found you.” rj angrily throws the scroll away.

michelle jones - mj’s scroll appears in her desk drawer at the local news station and paper: “before you knew it you were turned to dust, gone for 5 years.” mj quietly tucks the scroll into her bag. 

garfield logan - a few days after settling in another box appears at his bedside. he opens it to reveal a scroll that reads: “the tiger is not your only alter ego, you could be any animal you think of.” gar is unsure of how the scroll got there, leaves the scroll on his counter.

Scroll message:

— the young woman's tired eyes dragged her final bag into her newly appointed cabin, wiping the sweat from her brow. there was still lots to do to get settled into the new town. sure, the name was strange and slightly intimidating, but there was nothing special about it aside from how small it was. with a grunt, she plopped the bag onto her bed, turning around to toss her jacket on a chair then turned back around only to find her eyes going wide. a rolled up scroll sat ominously on her pillow, tied neatly with a ribbon, which she was sure had not been there a second ago. her slender fingers plucked the paper and unwrapped it. with a confused expression, she read it aloud:

Alice Kingsleigh: The Frabjous Day has passed, you have slain the Jabberwocky, you are The Alice.

a small piece of paper dropped at her feet, neatly wrapped in black and orange ribbon. she did not like the abruptness yet she couldn't help but feel as though it begged for her attention. as she plucked the scroll from the ground and unrolled it, the red ink spelled:

𝙱𝙴𝙻𝙾𝚆 𝚈𝙾𝚄’𝙻𝙻 𝙵𝙸𝙽𝙳 𝙰 𝙻𝙸𝚂𝚃 𝙾𝙵 𝚆𝙷𝙰𝚃 𝙴𝙰𝙲𝙷 𝙾𝙵 𝙼𝚈 𝙼𝚄𝚂𝙴𝚂 𝚁𝙴𝙲𝙴𝙸𝚅𝙴𝙳 𝙸𝙽𝚂𝙸𝙳𝙴 𝚃𝙷𝙴𝙸𝚁 𝚂𝙲𝚁𝙾𝙻𝙻!

scrolls find two different sets of hands, two different hearts. one eager, like a child on christmas, thirsting for an adventure of a lifetime -- a story to break all stories, tearing into the paper like nothing in the world is more important. the other, cautious and calculated, concern as fingers are delicate as if not to leave fingerprints in case crimes are committed. they read as follows:
