               As a student, how is your December vacation? This question is not new for me because I have been asked by this kind of question since I was Elementary. And my answer would be like this, “I just spend it with my family at home doing household chores, sometimes planting flowers for enjoyment, also for beautification of our surrounding and we also went to the beach with my family and my other relatives”. Another answer would be like this, “Me and my family just clean our house because flood came along. We also wash and dry our things which have been soak with flood”. Basically that is my answer for the entire December vacation I spent until this December vacation came. 2017 December vacation is different from what I experience for my entire existence. This year, I have spent it with a bigger family. What I mean is that, we just had our first family reunion in Ucab side held at New Bataan, Compostela Valley. It’s a two-day celebration, we arrived at 6:30 pm in December 28 and we just stroll around New Bataan and take some pictures with the lights in that place. We also visited the home of my uncle LikLik then we slept at the house of auntie Angga. But before sleeping, we first take time to bond with our relatives there. We the youth talk anything like games and other stuffs and then the elders talk about some memorable things they have done together in the past. Honestly, it’s not my first time visiting that place but it’s my first time spending time with my second cousins in my grandmother side. Upon celebrating our first reunion, I have discovered a lot of things like most of my second cousins are already married and some already have their children. Their children supposedly will call me auntie but for me it’s awkward because our age are almost the same and others are older than I am.  I also discovered that there are facial similarities between us and our other relatives. I also appreciated the quote, “Blood is thicker than water”. It is because of the fact that even if it is our first time meeting each other, there is really a certain strong bond that connect us. We easily get along with each other and talk as if we have spent our entire life together. It is really fun meeting them and I can’t wait to see them next December vacation.
