I forget that 24th Dec is basically Valentine's Day in Japan. This is literally the only evidence needed that gego is canon

Dec 24 - Made and canned some spiced cranberry sauce this afternoon, so that's one less thing to have to make tomorrow, with extra set aside for future use. There's just the two of us here so each jar is enough for at least a couple of meals. Also baked a cheesecake for dessert tomorrow, and cut up most of the loaf of oatmeal bread into cubes to dry overnight for making into dressing.

And crocheted a bunch, in between things.

Supper was the last of the current batch of pizzas from the freezer.

Dec 25 - Turkey roasting day! Turkey went into the oven a bit after noon, was on the table around 5pm. I made gravy, mashed potatoes, dressing, squash, and corn to go with it. Plus yesterday's cranberry sauce, and the cheesecake for dessert.

Very happy with how the cheesecake turned out, the recipe calls for a little lemon juice and lemon zest, and I substituted juice and zest from a clementine instead. Then I topped it with some dark chocolate ganache flavoured with a little triple sec. Very subtly chocolate orange overall.

Since there's just two of us here, vs a 13lb turkey, there will be many many leftovers over the next while. Sandwiches and casserole and leftover turkey with gravy and turkey stock to make into turkey soup and probably another meal or three beyond that. Processing of the carcass into the above to begin tomorrow.
