I am beginning to think - and have been for a little while now - that my skepticism and skeptical nature and abhorrence for pseudoscience, is actually an SI that I hadn't considered to be one. Like, science itself? Maybe? I LOVE reading physics and astronomy and cosmology books. And I love reading about debunking woo nonsense. I just came across (yet another) post about astrology and star signs and it just... It's Wrong, they are Wrong, people are Wrong, there is Wrongness. STOP BEING WRONG. I just CAN'T. My whole internal sense of Right and Wrong goes all blaring horns and sirens when people talk about pseudoscientific crap like it's real. Astrology, Crystal Healing, Homeopathy, Ghosts, Past Lives, ESP, Spoon Bending, Reiki, Chakra, Chiropractic, Aura Reading, Clairvoyance etc It's all pseudoscientific crap and it always makes me feel like some.. internal rule is being broken and I need to fix it. I used to debate and argue. These days I just rant at a willing friend or post the science/article that debunks it and move on.
I'm not entirely sure what bothers me more: the fact that people actually think NOAA is able to steer hurricanes using radar or how many would actively vote for it in our @Beltone #WeatherPoll of the day.
