READ THE NIGHTWING PROTOCOL
So i just finished the nightwing protocol and i must say that it is one of the more glorious, beautiful fanfics that i have ever read.
I mean, i dont even know where to start! The writing is beyond fantastic, i genuinely have no words. The entire time i was reading i couldnt stop myself from having very vocal and physical reactions, i was non stop saying things lile "thats crazy" "duuude" "broooo" "thats insane" this fic has me going crazy. It caught me off guard many many times and and jerked me in many different directions that were unexpected but made so so much sense
This author knows these characters
I usually dont like the sladick ship but their platonic dynamic is my absolute favourite in dc and this fic explored their relationship with all the nuance and care that i love in this pairing of characters, every moment is so carefully constructed and each section has its purpose, even all the explicit scenes were so carefully thought out and executed that i can apprectiate and understand their sheer importance in this fic. The structure is perfect.
Every character in this fic is crafted with so much care, both canon comic characters, as well as the ocs for this fic. I shed real tears for frat boy.
I binged this fic in four days and experienced every variation of every emotion so much harder than i knew was possible. This fic is poetry, the imagery is beautiful, all the call backs, all the ways everything is tied in so perfectly and so thought out, i cant even think about examples because you know them already and my mind is screaming. All the checkov's guns and aspects introduced, the various themes that come back full circle in the most satisfactory way, every detail did not go unnoticed, this fic felt written with deliberation. I could see every time some aspect was introduced exactly how it was going to tie in with the nightwing identity at the end. I am breathless reading this fic.
I cant even think straight, this fic was perfect and complete, i have no questions because everything important was adressed in the most careful way and i am satisfied with all the things i do not know. My heart aches and feels like its flying at the same time
I love these characters, and im glad i put off reading this till i was ready to fully embrace it, because the 251,000k words was worth it in the end and i dont think i could have aprectiated it before. I will be thinking about this fic all day, probably for the next few weeks, I will be drawing art for it.
